Where is the Best Romantic Dining in Oakland, California?
The Temple bar offers an extrodinary dining experience for a very reasonable price. They have an amazing selection the best cocktails I have ever had. Serving up a range of tasty authentic Hawaiian specialties. I have tried everything on their menu and even had them cater a party. I could not find any dish that was anything less than exceptional.
My co-worker and I decided to go out for dinner. Our concierge recommended The Cosmopolitan. The walk was close to our hotel. When we got there we were seated very promptly even though we did not have a reservation. Our waiter was extremely nice and knowledgeable of the food. He never made us feel stupid for asking questions about the food. After ordering, our drinks and some amazing bread were served promptly along with my salad appetizer. Not too long after I was finished with my salad, our food came. The presentation was fabulous and the food was delicious! Some of the homemade ingredients and fresh produce were fantastic! I can’t wait to go back. With such a high quality of food, I was surprised to see my bill which was at least $20 less than what I had expected to pay for dinner that night. Pros + Friendly staff, fantastic food, comfortable ambienceCons – nothing
This is a nicely decorated place. The appetizers are good and very unique. Now…the entrees are good tasting, but way over-priced for the portions.I ordered the lamb entree at ~$22.00 and recevied probably less than 4 ounces of lamb. This place is know for it’s organic ingredients, but I think this was taking it too far.I suggest wine and appetizers. If you feel money is no object, more power to you. Service was good!Pros + decor, serviceCons – small portions, high price
The food at Bay Wolf is great, yet I wasn’t blown away. The service was VERY good — attentive, yet not always in my face. The facility is nice, especially the front porch, but parking is tricky. I read about how fantastic the duck is. I ordered duck and it was good but I don’t think it was as good as other $24 entrees I have had at other restaurants. My companion had the gnocchi which was good but, as with the duck, I’ve had better gnocchi elsewhere. I would go again but I won’t order the duck next time.
This is a bar with a kitchen in the back. The lines can be long , so a wait at the bar is common, and the bar has everything you need. When you are seated the wine list is very creative and the flights of wines , beers or spirits are lovely. Oh yes they also serve food. The menu varies week to week this a few staples.I always order the mussles in pernod, the rillettes are done very fatty in the french style (not everyone’s cup of tea), as a rule the offereing vary from the amazing to the mearly good. You can sit in the dark swoopy art nouveaux inspired front room which shares space with the bar at tables for four, or the common table down the middle. If you want a bit more space and quiet, ask to be sat in the more staid back room, which is basically the old deck behind the house that has been tented. I am the proud parent of a sophisticated daughter, but this is one restraunt we have never brought her to. The food is too weird, and the other partons too loud for her delicate sensibi
