Where is the Best Romantic Dining in Indianapolis, Indiana?
My girlfriend and I were surprised by my Uncle and taken out here when we came into town. We didn’t know we were coming to such a nice place and were underdressed and taken aback. I felt bad because I felt it was a very nice place, but the wait staff made us feel very comfortable. I love that they bring out cuts of meat and seafood on a cart to your table to show you ahead of time. The staff was VERY well prepared and willing to answer any and all questions and made some great reccomendations. The meats that we all got were probably one of, if not THE, best I’ve ever had, and I’ve been in some very fine restaurants. The atmosphere is very intriguing and intimate. Very classy yet very comfortable. I would reccomend to anybody and everybody.Pros + EXCELLENT Service, Meats, AmbienceCons – A bit pricey, but worth it
I enjoyed my filet at Dunaways, however, the terrible service my group received will be the reason why I don’t plan to go back.A group of 12 went out for a friends birthday and we were seated on the roof- which was lovely. The atmosphere of the entire place is great, and the roof offers a great view of the city. I had great expectations, only to be let down by the service. The gals at the front desk were unattitive and quick to just point me into the bar to find my party. Once at the bar, it took 10 minutes to receive my martini. Once officially seated on the roof, the waiter was not friendly at all and seemed to rush everyone into making a decision. We had asked for bread several times before it was brought- about about 30 seconds before our food- which came in two seperate trips. Someone ordered crab legs and had something unidentifiable in it- the waiter said it was “probably cartliage” and left it at that. Our table spent over $1,200 at this restaurant and were treated very poorl
Visited recently with the love of my life, Indy_Cindy! We both had the three-course-classics. She started with the Boneless Buffalo Wings, had the Chedder-Jack Melt&Cheese as her main course, then finished off with the Apple Caramel Supreme. I started with the Crunchy Onion Rings, had the Cedder-Jack Melt&Cheese as my main course, and finished off with some Key Lime Pie. Other than Cindy’s Buffalo Wings being a little too hot for her tastes (and the portions being too big for both of us – we ‘both’ took food home), it was a great evening out. The ambiance was good, we were seated promptly, the food was quite good, and we both got out the door with the above + soda’s for right at $30 … all in all, a great deal. The only reason there are four stars up there and not five, is that the service was a little slow (both in bringing us our drinks, our food, as well as checking on us during the meal, and processing our check) … forgivable if they were busy, but this was on a Wednesday night
Ambiance notwithstanding, the food (appetizers, soups to main course) was ‘below’ average and as high priced as I would pay for high end, flavorful food in restaurants in Chicago or San Francisco. As food is very important to me, the quality simply muted the towering view of the city. Perhaps it is just a place to go for drinks?Key disappointments: 1 I paid $11 for the Roast Beet Salad for my wife and I to share. We were given a small plate with about 4 pieces of lettuce with tiny cube cuts of beet perhaps equaling 1/2 slice of a beet. We actually asked is this just 1/2 the salad, which would still be small compared to Cheese Cake Factory or any of a number of restaurants like Maggiano’s or BoneFish. Regardless I expected it to be good, but it also was NOT with either the lettuce or beets being somewhat grainy.2. Steak with pesto sauce was bland which was very disappointing3. Dessert menu is NOT provided. So I expected a great description of the part of dinner I sweetly
