Where is the Best Romantic Dining in Indianapolis, Indiana?
I have eaten at Ruth’s Chris for both business and pleasure and have always had a great experience! The northside location does a fantastic job in accomodating groups for business presentations (haven’t done this downtown). Their servers are extremely attentive, but in just the right doses. Each time I’ve gone to either location to celebrate something special, they always give us a little something extra at the end of the meal ~ be it a glass of champagne or chocolate covered strawberries. And the food is top notch! Their petite filet is my favorite out of any steakhouses I’ve been to… it always comes out warm and sizzling on the plate (and covered in yummy butter). Only one place in Dallas, Texas rivals it. But as far as Indy is concerned, they are the best! And my absolute favorite dessert in town is their chocolate souffle. It is to die for! I prefer Ruth’s Chris over Morton’s, Peterson’s, Sullivan’s, Flemming’s (although I’ve only been there once) and St. Elmo’s by far
The food and drinks were pretty good, I had the mahi-mahi sandwich which was a bit dry,and my date had the New York Strip which I sampled and it was excellent. Hickory smoked and cooked the way he asked for it.I’d stick with the specials (drink-wise) or the seasonal beer. Our service, especially on the deck was very, very slow. We would have stayed outside for an extra cocktail, but we waited nearly 20 minutes for the first drink, and the deck was dead. That’s the only reason I took off a couple stars.A friend of ours used to work there and warned us of the slow service before we went, but we weren’t expecting to be there for as long as we were. One thing that helped was the live jazz music in the bar.All in all, I’d go back, but I’d be prepared to spend most of the evening there.Pros + Steak, ambienceCons – Slow service
