Where is the Best Romantic Dining in Detroit, Michigan?
This establishment is as old as the hills, and presents itself as timeless in ambience, and excellence in food and service. It’s pricey, but that’s to be expected for the extra emphasis on quality. The entertainment is usually exceptional as well. This is a great place to meet as a “hang” with old friends! Oh yes, don’t forget the clam chowder!
WOW! What a great destination. Tucked into a residential side street in sleepy Downtown Northville is this slice of Italy. Set up like an Italian village, Little Italy has an excellent “ristorante”, a way cool bar (Bacchus Bar) for casual dining with more spirit selections than I have ever seen in my life, the lower level wine cellar is incredible, and the neatest Italian market/pizzeria carry-out (Hutton Street Market) jam packed with wine and Italian specialties. They have a great selection of ready to heat and eat foods and bottle their own sauces. The best Italian food I have had outside of Italy. Great steaks (try the fillet), seafood, homemade pastas. The market carry-out pizzas are also available in the bar (a must try). Top notch high quality food and a super waitstaff make you feel better than family. Overall, an incomparable experience. Their signature dish is a fried twin lobster tails (yes, not one but two lobster tails!) … Yum, absolutely delicious. Probably one of the best lobsters I’ve ever had. I didn’t care much for the “default” sides (dirty rice and mashed potatoes–apparently I should’ve gotten sweet potatoes). I had heard crazy talk of frying lobsters (somewhere new here in Chicago)…, but never had tried anything like it. I had pictured an breaded, over-cooked lobster being the result…. this was anything but. The lobster was fried in shell, the meaty part cut outward slightly and that part was lightly breaded. Frying the lobster apparently brought out it’s sweetness. And it was extremely light, which to me was the most suprising part of all. I ate alone at the bar. They had a very nice live jazz band that would’ve kept me around longer had I not went so late and they left. The chef came out and talk to me, asked me how I enjoyed the lobster, explained it, etc… which is always a nice treat. Desp
