Where is the Best Romantic Dining in Charleston, South Carolina?

The food is very good – The salads are FANTASTIC, the rolls are out of this world, and the french fries are some of the best I’ve ever tasted. I had fried shrimp – I swear they gave me an entire pound! My hubby had the prime rib. It was good, but not as good as the prime rib at T-Bonz. The second vist, I had a quesadilla – which was massive and flavorful, and my husband had the chicken parmesan – the poultry was moist and the entree was very good. Come early and make sure you call ahead. It’s parties or even a business lunch.

If you’ve ever been disappointed at 82 Queen, please try again. My wife and I ate there in May, 2007, and the food and service were, simply, superb. We ate at so many restaurants in Charleston, so I cannot remember what I had. But I can say this: I happily purchased the cook book they offer, and have not been disappointed in its contents. Every restaurant goes thru ups and downs, and 82 Queen, while not exempt from life, must have more ups than downs, if our experience is any indication. Of the MANY restaurants in Charleston that my wife and I sampled, 82 Queen (along with the Charleston Grill) would top the list.

This is a jewel among Charleston’s crowded restaurant scene. Chef, Jeremiah Bacon, worked under Eric Ripert and Thomas Keller, two of the best chef’s in the world, (if you watch Top Chef, you’ve seen them) and came back to Charleston because he’s a local boy and boy was that a good thing for Charleston.Everything that comes out of his kitchen is amazing. Not flashy or trendy, but deceptively simple in a way that lets the quality of the local seasonal food shine through. It’s hard to recommend a specific dish because this is a seasonal menu that changes according to what’s freshest and and available locally, much of which is grown for him on a local plantation. I am, as my screen name implies, a litlle picky, but I’ve tried things he’s cooked, ( like pork belly), that I never thought I’d like and wanted to clean the plate. His beef carpaccio is delicious when it’s on the seasonal menu and the won tons and calamari are always on it and a favorite of many. The hanger steak that’s on it n

Mickey and his staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They treat everyone as a friend and even though it was 3 months between our first and second visit, they remember our names. My wife and I love to eat at good resturants. We have been fortunate to travel throughout the US and a number of foreign countries. This is one of the best resturants for food, service and ambiance. My daughter is planning her wedding in Charleston and she was so taken by Mickey,Chef Waggoner and their staff that we are going to host her wedding reception dinner at their resturant

The view is five stars and so is the wait-staff. It’s nice for kids, parties or even a business lunch. You may even be lucky and see the dolphins swim by.
