Where is the Best Romantic Dining in Albuquerque, New Mexico?
Unless they’ve seriously upgraded their food, all you pay for here is the view, which by the way is fabulous. The food is over-priced and over-rated, and there are so many other better choices. My advice? Eat elsewhere, and have a sunset cocktail at this place. The sunset + drink ambiance is the best.Pros + view, trip up the tramCons – , expensive for quality
We recently moved to ABQ from Upstate NY. I have traveled extensively and dined in some of the finest restaurants in major US cities for work, so have some appreciation for fine dining. We found the atmosphere to be enjoyable although the tables are a little close. The service was top notch and the waiter was passionate and knowledgeable about the limited wine selection. We were not rushed. Our meals were well prepared, served and presented. The food itself was quite good with decently sized portions. We shared a dessert, but only because everything else was so good. I would rate the restaurant about a 23-24. We would recommend to friends and family and intend to return. Certainly in the top 5 restaurants we have found in ABQ. A couple of weeks ago (April 2006) my wife and I received a gift card from Buca di Beppo. This was actually the first time we had heard of it! So, when time permitted, we decided to give it a shot. We went there on a Wednesday evening before 5:30 PM. The parking lot was mostly empty and we easily found a fine parking place. The front of the restaurant had advertisement cards for beer and wine and also an Italian bakery. The beer and wine was evident, but no sign of a bakery. The entrance area was nicely decorated, but passing through the kitchen area on the way to our table was a new experience for us. Seating was comfortable in a room simply covered in decorations. Buca di Beppo is a ala-carte restaurant, i.e., you order all your meal choices separately. Prices seemed a little high until we got our briefing from the server. We ordered a small garlic bread as our appetizer. This came out in a 9″ pie pan. It was a thick, crusty bread with lots of butter and roasted garlic on top. I coul
I wouldn’t say that JC’s was the most romantic place in the Duke City. There are places, such as the Indigo Crow and Casa Vieja in Corrales that are a romantic get away from this city. Plus the food there is the chef’s original style and it is seasonal too. While JC’s is nice to go to when you crave italian over Olive Garden or Carrabas, I cast my vote to the local “hole’s in the wall” for romantic wining and dining.
