Where is the Best Romantic Bar in Denver, Colorado?
My sister and I went there just for some drinks and were very impressed. It was my birthday and they gave us a free dessert, which was absolutely delicious. The recommended great wines, and the artichoke dip was also great- actual artichokes, not like some places that you go where is is just pureed and you can tell it came from the freezer! The only drawback is the extremely loud bar across the street! Of course Vines is a little pricey, but that ‘s because it’s a wine bar! If you want cheap, go to the bar across the street.Pros + Great wine list, good foodCons – Across from a very loud bar
My girlfriends and I had an excellent experience at Cru as part of a girls’ night out. The interior is amazing with an impressive wall stacked with wine. The manager and server went out of their way to accomodate our party and help us pick out our wines. They were very knowledgable and were happy to teach us about our wines as well. There’s a great variety of wine flights from which to choose. We didn’t try the food but we plan on going back for dinner next time! Pros + Excellent staffCons – Pricey but expected
So, I usually go out of town to visit with my girlfriends and “go out”. This time, my best friend was headed up here and since we weren’t exactly wanting the club scene, I wasn’t sure where to go! We DID however, want club music and seeing the previous reviews about this place I decided to give it a go.I loved the music, the DJ was fantastic. Everything he played was exactly what I wanted to hear and didn’t know it – haha. It was loud, but not too loud – I could still hear what my friends were saying. The atmoshphere was wonderful, the lighting great, the seating very social. It was small and cramped, which sucked, but what are you gonna do – they did the best with what they had. Our waitress was such a sweetpea! My only real gripes were not enough people, not a good range of people and not clearly marked. I think if we could get the word out about it, it would be close to perfect!Pros + Atmosphere, music, waitress, bartender invented great drinks for meCons – small, got
Tryst is an upscale lounge that is a good hang out if you’re in that kind of mood. A lot of “pretty people” hang out there and the atmosphere is sexy. It can be a good place to have a martini and do some socializing. It can get crowded late but the happy hour is usually very comfortable. If you’re going to check it out I recommend to dress up a little bit because it’s usually a young hip profesional crowd that is into style. It’s a good place to go right after you’ve gone clothes shopping and your feelin really cool. hahaThe only downside to the bar is that they support traditional roles and put all men behind the bar and women on the floor. Come on guys, mix it up a little and get some female bar tenders too!Pros + Classy, Warm, SexyCons – Small, Too many Guys, Need Female Bartender
While Corridor 44 certainly has interesting and memorable decor, the food is mediocre at best (and sometimes affirmatively bad). The champagne list is top notch, but similar care was not put into the wine list, which is very weak. The servers look only a few months over twenty-one, so don’t expect much guidance with your wine or champagne selection. It caters to the type of Denver clientele that likes to pretend that they are hip urbanites, but are easily fooled by a glamorous space and the pretense of sophistication. If you are legitimately into good food and wine, skip Corridor 44. Pros + Nice space, good champagne listCons – So-so food and bad wine list; pretentious
