Where is the Best Power Lunch in Orange County, California?
I will start by saying that I enjoyed my dinner, so dont think you are going to get to read some mean stuff. let me take you on a timeline type review. So I walked in and was immediately greeted by the girl at the desk. Very friendly, good first impression. I didnt have a reservation but it wasnt a problem. The manager walked up as she was getting menus and he said hello and took us to our table. let me say, the restaurant is very different. its all one row of tables with super high ceilings. after a minute of getting used to it, i really thought it was very cool. so we sit down and the tablecloths were clean and white and all the place settings were very clean and neat. huge plus. so many places leave out the little details. we are greeted by out server. i think his name was Larry. super nice guy from the start but the speech he gave was a little long. but there was some cool history about the owner and the food. the menu was really simple which was nice. my onl
I discovered Bistangos on a trip to California and for the past 5 Years, I fly in from Las Vegas once a week to have dinner. I live in the City of Fine Dining and Entertainment and have been to all the best of the best here in LV. Bistangos has a wonderful ambiance and the staff is terrific. Bill Blank is always accomodating when he knows I am flying in for dinner and each week seems better than the last. The food is absolutely excellent and the Wines and special events they offer should not be missed. If you want the best and have not experienced fine dining, then make sure Bistango’s is your first choice !Pros + Excellent Service !Cons – There are no cons to this place.
Short and sweet, this place has great atmosphere but over-priced disappointing food. We went here for the Steak Diane, a continental favorite. It was prepared in the kitchen, not table side as it should. At $40 per plate, the portion was small and the sauce didn’t even resemble any of the various versions of Diane sauce we’ve had in the past. When the server asked how our meal was, we expressed our disappointment. The response was nothing more than “well, that’s how we’ve always served it” and that was the last we saw of her. Had this been Chili’s the server would have immediately notified a manager and that manager would have been at the table within minutes. No such luck. If you have money to burn and want to stare at a bunch of old people with wrinkles, go there. If you want true continental cuisine, the Riviera in Westminster is not bad. Melvyns in Palm Springs is a classic.I work for a major hotel in Newport Beach, and I will no longer refer people to this location.Pros
This restaurant is located in the mall so finding parking nearby the entrance was difficult, even on a Wednesday night. Appetizers: oyster sampler and shrimp cocktail; both were very good. Entrees: Pan Seared and Roasted Sea Bass served with seafood jambalaya and Grilled Hawaiian Swordfish with honey-ginger marinade, baby bok choy, roasted shiitake mushrooms with steamed rice. The sea bass has a southern kick b/c of the spicy jambalaya while the swordfish is sweeter, Asian flair. Neither entree was “to-die-for.” Dessert : Fallen Chocolate Soufflé with white chocolate-raspberry ice cream; very decadent & moist. Good service, but other restaurant goers were talking very, very loudly so we couldn’t enjoy the music. Our bill was $105. Dinner was over by 9:30 PM and we had to walk to our car in the dark since most all of the lights in the parking lot had turned off. :(Pros + has kids’ menu, visually appealingCons – hrd 2 find gd parking, loud, not romantic
