Where is the best place to stay in Venice?
Best can mean many things – some of the best hotels in Venice are extremely expensive – especially during events like the Film Festival. It will be in September with the dates to be announced. Generally, the San Marco area will be convenient or you could also consider the Castello area near San Marco. There’s lots of shopping almost anywhere you go in the city and San Marco is convenient for the boats to the Lido Island for the film festival. Depending on your budget, you might want to look at other areas as well. Actually, Venice is pretty compact and easy to get around in on foot or using the vaporetto, so any area is okay.
