Where is the BEST place to see castles/Traditional cottages in IRELAND?
Pretty much all of the western and southern counties have castles and cottages with some claim to fame. One of the nicest is Cahir Castle, which was also one of the best defended. The nearby Swiss Cottage used to belong to the family owning the entire area in the 16th century, and both are now part of the Cahir heritage trail in south Tipperary. Also of worth is the Rock of Cashel, a great castle ruin in Cashel, also in south Tipperary.
Bunratty is defiantley the best its in Co. Clare The castle itself is amazing all the rooms are decorated how they would have back then and the veiws at the top are lovely Then all the old cottages are set up with people in costumes and living how they would have back when the castle was inhabuited there is chickens roaming around and everything. Also in one of the cottages theres a photographer and you and some friends should go in and you get all dressed up in the old clothes and get your photo taken it looks so cool when its done! I really think you should go here its a fab day out!!
