Where is the best place to go shelling?
Sanibel is known as the best place in the western hemisphere for shelling. Unique shells can be found all along the waterline of Sanibel’s beaches. The area in front of Castaways, known as “Blind Pass,” is one of the most popular areas for local shellers. You can also take a special shelling trip with one of the local guides found at the Castaways Marina. A popular attraction on the island is the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum, which houses the largest shell collection in the world.
