Where is the best place to find Christmas Cookies Recipes?
Two of my favorite Christmas cookie recipes are more than 50 years old. My parents moved to the United States and Holland in 1956, settled down in a new country and began to raise a family. Mom began the tradition of baking Christmas cookies for her growing family. Two of her recipes were from the 1959 Ladies Home Journal, which I found in her kitchen drawer after she died in 2007. She had kept it all these years, baking those cookies for us every Christmas. In her later years, she baked several other varieties of Christmas cookies as well to give to friends and family. Now I carry on the tradition of baking Christmas cookies for friends and family. I try new recipes each year, but always include mom’s favorite Butter Cookies and Lemon Oil Cookies. Both are quite easy to make. The butter cookie dough can be chilled and then rolled out to 1/4-inch thick for cut cookies or made into 2 logs, chilled and cut into 1/4-inch slices. Sources:
