Where is the Best Pizza in Tucson, Arizona?
I recently moved here from New Jersey… The pizza at Magpies isn’t bad, but it doesn’t live up to real NJ Italian Pizzeria pizza, and Magpies is much more expensive than anywhere else I’ve ever had pizza… (Over 16 dollars for a large one topping pizza which isn’t really all that large.)….. I can get a steak dinner for that much, so I had to give Magpies a below average rating… To me, 16 or 17 bucks is way too much to pay for an average pizza with one topping, made by local high school kids… Maybe they raise their prices during the high tourist season, since those are January prices, but as far as I’m concerned, those prices are ridiculous.Cons – Way too expensive
This is a great place to check out. It’s a local place with a grungy feel (in a good way!) and has great beer. Some of the reviews have gone a little overboard on the ratings (I didn’t see pizza on the menu, but apparently it’s rated as one of the best in Tucson?? and romantic?? Hardly.) The good news is- this is a really fun place to check out. It’s nestled (that means it’s very hard to find- especially in the dark!) among warehouses. If it’s your first time at Nimbus, be prepared to order beers and food from a line at the bar. A server brings your food to your numbered table. (That was a bit confusing since no one told us that.) The food was great and very affordable. Check it out.Pros + Interesting atmosphere, great microbrews, great place to hang out with the “crew”Cons – hard to find
There pizza was ok. Not exceptional. But thay have this dessert that is so good. YOU NEED TO ORDER DESSERT HERE! Here is the description: “THE ORiGiNAL PiZZA COOKiE Now this will knock your socks off! A 1/2 pound of Chocolate Chip, White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, or Peanut Butter Chocolate cookie dough, slightly baked in a 6-inch pizza pan then topped with 3 scoops of vanilla bean ice cream.” It was so YUMMY!
We ordered Mama’s pizza last weekend after reading all the positive reviews. Having just moved here from back east, we were excited to try this citysearch hyped pizza. We ordered a regular cheese pizza for delivery. It arrived within a reasonable time frame for a Saturday night and was still warm. Still, we were disappointed. It tasted exactly like Papa Gino’s Pizza (a pizza chain back east). Nothing special, just average, like a chain pizza restaurant. I *probably* wouldn’t order from here again, but who knows, maybe I’ll try something else from the menu. The telephone people were very friendly as was the delivery guy. Pros + delivery available, friendly staffCons – average tasting pizza
