Where is the Best Pizza in Portland, Oregon?
Coming from the East Coast I am used to good pizza, and bad service. At Pizza Schmizza, they have great pizza and and they actually give you more than a grunt and point for customer service, and this from high schoolers. It’s great that they serve by the slice, and their cute little salads are good too! Those who say they think ther service is bad are kidding themselves! This is pizza by the slice, not Morton’s-GET REAL!!!!Awesome food, and recommended!Pros + great pizza, easy to order
I’ve only gone for the happy hour ($2 wells and $1 slices of cheese or pepperoni) its a cool building and I have no problem with the staff. The pizza is not the greatest but well worth a dollar (the non happy hour pizza might be better?). This is a great place to start the night and pound down some cheap drinks and a couple of slices.Pros + Good happy hour, cool building.Cons – Closes early.
Flying Pie. I was a bit hesitant to try this place since they had so many locations around and thought it would be “not so original chain pizza”… but decided to try it since they’re one of the few places that offer gluten-free crust. Dude. I ordered a gluten-free pie and I was pleasantly surprised. Piled high with toppings! I mean it. Every time i go there it’s the same… BAM! Like there was a mushroom, olive, mozzarella avalanche in the kitchen! The cheese they use is top quality and boy do they cover that pizza with it. I believe they use Nu-grain gluten-free crusts which are used in a few other pizza parlors around town. A good tasting, thin crust that somehow magically holds the toppings they dump on there. Their house dough/crust is good too. A little thicker than I like… but it tastes very good. They also sell pizza by the slice 11-4. Go check em out. The Academy Theatre next door sells Flying Pie by the slice too.Pros + good crust, gluten-free crust avai
At times this is great pizza… that leaves you wanting more. Sometimes like today, it is a 1 star place. Seriously, there was only cheese on the middle 1/3 of the pizza and the sauce was really thin too. There were entire slices with no cheese. I long ago realized that I should avoid Fridays and Saturdays- better quality during the week and now it seems that Sundays are no good either. It is a local place and will likely go back, but I wouldn’t drive across town. Pros + Sometimes a home runCons – inconsistent
