Where is the Best Pizza in Nashville, Tennessee?
I’ve eaten here a few times: a couple at the old location, and a couple at the new one. At the old location, it won Best of Nashville for “Restaurant with a View”, now it’s tucked next to overflow parking for downtown events. Coming from the northeast where Italian food abounds, I was never blown away by the food. I mean, it’s good. It’s just not what you’d want for a last meal on deathrow. The last time I went (at the new location), I was uninspired. The food was (again) just OK, but this time they had to raise the prices to cover the move to the new location. Needless to say, it wasn’t that great to begin with, and was overpriced at the old location. This is a bit sad, given that there really aren’t many non-franchise Italian restaurants in Nashville, and just about all of them are merely acceptable in the food dept, and in that regard, they’re usually inconsistent. Sadly, I’ve taken to eating at the upper-end franchises, as the food is always good (if not terribl
I travel all over Tennessee for business and I got to say, i stop in at Angelos twice a week. The food is GREAT! My business is a food critic. I have ate at many Pizza Parlors to decide which is the best and I have to give it to Angelo. Joey’s in brentwood is ok, they have bad attitudes, Sals is now owned by russian people and there not so hot. Pizza Perfect is too busy and not worth the wait, Pie in the Sky tastes like Cardboard, Mafiaosas is decent, but not authentic. I highly recommend Angelos! Nick, Sara, and Angelo and there staff arte great. They have good additudes, the restuarant is always clean, and the food is delicious, I reccommend the Cadillac Pizza ( Double Crust) It is loaded with all the meats. I finally met Nicks look a like brother Joe and I got to say, Pizza is this family’s business, and there darn good at it! They need to open a store in Symrna where i live! Thank God for ANGELOS! Pros + Great food, Good looking Pizza, excellent chicken parm!Cons – Need mor
Poor dawgfan1982 wouldn’t know good pizza if it landed in their lap.Now I can agree that many Nashvillians haven’t ventured to the Northeast and wouldn’t understand what makes a pizza great. However many of us, myself included, have spent quite a bit of time traveling to the New York metro area and can appreciate a properly made pizza. Joey’s is most definitely on par with many of the eateries up North.I can say that I have gained tremendous perspective after dining at every one of the Top 10 pizzerias in America (as rated by Epicurious). If you haven’t eaten at Frank Pepe’s in Connecticut, or even Letizia’s, you aren’t prepared to accurately judge other pizzas. The only two places in Nashville that can compete on a national level are Joey’s and the 2 Pizza Perfect locations. And no, you can’t make a proper judgment by ordering a cheese or pepperoni pizza. Please! A true taste test should be determined by an establishments finer toppings; roasted garlic, feta cheese, peppers, arti
A native to NYC, I lived in Nashville for 5 years. This is the ONLY place I can say had good pizza- what I was used to from home. The Granny White location’s pizza was not as busy as the downtown/better for take-out and they used Boar’s Head coldcuts on their sandwiches. Hillsboro location more for sit-down eaters.Pros + fast, Real NY pizza, good sandwiches
