Where is the Best Pizza in Minneapolis, Minnesota?

I went there for drinks and although the bar was busy, the bartender took time to make something special. I am not a big drinker so he asked me what flavors liked, how strong I would like the drink to be, and he came up with a great custom drink! What ever he made, I love it and have gone back a few times with friends to enjoy them. Great service, ask for Ben.Pros + serviceCons – none

I was in Minneapolis with some friends for a conference and one night we decided to order in. A couple of my friends had already had Pizza Luce and raved about it, so we decided to order from them. As a vegan, I was prepared to go cheeseless veggie, as I have in the past. It didn’t occur to me to check the Happy Cow list of veg-friendly restaurants I’d printed out for my trip (vegan-friendly pizza joints are few and far between, in my experience). My friend was on the phone ordering for us, and apparently the person taking the order thought it weird that we were ordering cheeseless, so he offers not one, but two types of vegan cheese! Yippee! It was such a pleasant surprise — the pizza was to die for. The delivery was prompt and the price was fair. Definitely recommended.

The food was very good, however, I thought the prices for food & wine were rather high. Good creme brulees, but tiny. We sat for what seemed like an eternity until acknowledged by our server. Wine pours seemed way too small, esp. for $9 a glass. Our server brought our $50 bottles of wine tucked into his armpits! A pop gets served in a wine glass, with about four mouthfuls in it. Service was slow, drab, boring, uninspired, timid, no personality anywhere in the place. No hustle, no organization, no rapport, no handshake, NOTHING above average. A busser brought plates for the apps a minute after another busser had already done so. Bread wasn’t served until the appetizers were eaten and cleared, and we only got one small piece per person. Water glasses went empty for long stretches. Our meals didn’t arrive together. The room was a bit loud.

I made reservations for four (even though it was a Tuesday night) because we had enjoyed the restaurant so much on our first occasion. Too bad. The service was friendly and helpful, the ambiance was relaxing, but the food was just a disappointment. No flavor, the pizza was soggy, both steaks undercooked (not a problem for me but my girlfriend is training herself away from well done to medium and couldn’t eat the middle at all). The half priced wine was great, but overall, still too expensive for food that was not enjoyable. Last note, it also bothered me that even though the reservation was in my name, the host/manager only referred to my boyfriend and would not make any eye-contact with me at all. It was just disappointing.Pros + comfortable, supporting st. paulCons – too expensive for quality of food

Only a block from another “Neopolitan” pizza joint which caters primarily to the beer and pizza college crowd, this intimate little gem is one of the best-kept secrets on East Hennepin in the St. Anthony Main district. The pizza is the best we have eaten in the Twin Cities, with perfectly baked thin crust, and generous amounts of fresh tomatoes, herbs and a variety of other toppings. We’ve had Neopolitan pizza at other places, and no-one seems to be able to bake the pizza so that the middle is not soggy. Pizza Nea gets it right! Monday night is half-price wine, and they have a moderately-priced wine list with enough variety to satisfy any palate–and beer, too. For those of us who enjoy greens with our pizza, there is a variety of super-fresh salads to choose from. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the space is charming, with sidewalk seating in the warmer months. We agree with other comments about the room’s being a little noisy at times, but that just reminds us of ot
