Where is the Best Pizza in Minneapolis, Minnesota?
My husband and I try pizza from any town we visit. However, we are absolutely hooked on Old World Pizza. We live about 2 hours north of the Twin Cities. My parents live in Inver Grove Hts. Everytime we visit, we order 2 top of the line with kraut pies…one to eat there and one to take home with us. The one we take home, we order half baked, then we freeze it for the next time we want their pizza, but are too far away to “drive over and pick it up.” Whenever my family comes up here, they bring a pizza to us…We have eaten at several different pizza places all over the state of Minnesota. We have yet to find a pizza that beats the taste (all fresh, packed with ingredients, with a taste to die for…), the appearance of the pie, and the price. We have had many pizza’s from other places that cost a lot but don’t give the satisfaction that Old World Pizza provides…also, they don’t give up the ingredients like Old World Pizza does. What I mean is there is never an edge that does
In general the resturant is cramped, but cozy. The pizza is average, and could be considered a bit cheesy. However, the great selection of beers and the neighborhood atmosphere puts this pizza place in the “reccomended” section. If you’re in the south Minneapolis area and need your beer and cheese fix I can’t think of a better place. Pizza snobs should look elsewhere.Pros + Beer selection, locationCons – cramped
My wife and I moved to the North End in October of 2007. I did not know about Mama’s at that point. I drove by it several times and always saw the “reopening soon” sign and just thought sadly that it was like the other such signs you see along Rice that you assume have been there and will continue to be there gathering dust for years to come. Not this place! I never visited it before they had their damage, but everything I’m reading here still appies to it today. Great food, great service, great character! A true neighborhood type of place and I’m glad it’s so near my house. My vegetarian wife and I can go eat there for just over $20 and be absolutely stuffed and happy when we leave. It reminds me of the family run Mexican places in Denver that my family always frequented – the kind of place that knows that good service and remembering your customers is what it is ALL about. My plan is to bring all of my out-of-town guests to Mama’s at some point before they leave. I think it
