Where is the Best Pizza in Jacksonville, Florida?
Hello I want to comment the 9A location. I don’t know why everyone’s complainig about it. Here’s a few starters for those who complained about that place. Tell me where else in Jacksonville are you going to find Garlic knots or pinwheels? Also there are not too many places serving sicilian either. I have been to these so called N.Y pizzaria’s like Al’s and Renna’s and they certainly do not have this in there establishments. Now I too am an ex New yorker from the Island and this place is as good if not better than most places I have been to up there. Secondly cosider what I just said earlier where are you goign to find pinwheels and garlic knots in Jacksonville. I hope all of you will consider this before posting another thumbs down review on someone. I have pearsonally eaten in this establishment and I love it there. The first thing I noticed when we sat at our table was the noise–and there is lots of it. If you’re up for loud music and a room FULL of people trying to talk over it, this is your place because everything else is fabulous. Food is great, priced to match, wine list is extensive, and service is good. But if you’re looking for a quiet, romantic table, or a serious business lunch or dinner, you might look elsewhere. My wife and I move alot and came across Moon River Pizza in Jacksonville about 3 months ago. You will never find a place with better atmosphere or pizza. My wife would go there and just sit and watch the girls throwing the dough while listening to the Beatles and admiring the artwork on the walls from local artists. The entire crew works together. The guy that takes your order at the counter will stop by and ask if you’d like a drink refill. The girl cleaning off the tables will bring you to-go containers. Everyone works together, sings together, jokes together. All the employees have tattoos or piercings or wear bandanas. I compare every pizza place I’ve ever been to this one, and they all come up lacking.In short: amazing pizza, unbelievable customer service, fantastic atmosphere. I tried Maria’s on a whim while at the Publix shopping center on Atlantic Blvd, and was greatly surprised at how good it really was. I was expecting your everyday Olive Garden type of place. However, once the food arrived, I realized I was in an authentic NY style Italian eatery. My favorite is the Eggplant Parmesan sub, it is huge and topped with loads of Mozarella. They also have great calzones, pastas, and pizzas. Another thing worth noting is the amazing amount of sports memorabilia the owner has collected through the years. The bottom line is this is a great local place with good food and good prices.Pros + inexpensiveCons – crowded
