Where is the Best Pizza in Charlotte, North Carolina?
I moved from NY and I was a little bit disappointed in the pizza scene in Charlotte. Then I stumbled upon Wolfman Pizza! It said that it was California style, and I did not know what that meant. So I went in and asked. California style does not use the traditional red sauces, but instead sauces like black beans, scampi sauce and even pesto! Needless to say I was hooked! All of the fresh ingredients and homemade sauces make the pizza taste wonderful! There is someting for everyone even if you are not a pizza lover! They have fresh salads, paninis and pastas! It’s a great place for families and kids! They even have some of the best beer selections in Charlotte! My server was great as well and it has a cool and laid-back atmosphere! I Love it!!!Pros + GREAT PIZZA, SERVICE, FAMILY FRIENDLYCons – No patio at this location
I worked at Wylers on Madison Avenue 25 Years ago and THAT was the high price category in Manhattan. The Manhattan Art & Antique Mall is the top level of antiques in Manhattan with Sensible prices. The Mall on 23rd has mid level antiques by transient dealers . If you want Victoriana to the 1960’s. If you are looking at this mall based on prices you are missing the rarity of its pieces, ranging from Georgian Sterlings to Neolithic Chinese sculptures. I know of a place in LA that has phone number prices but the items are so rare it makes sense. This last reviewer might prefer the less reputable resale dealers but the MA&AM has only established and reeputable dealers who have been in the field for decades. Some of hem are passed down in the family. The first reviewer should take the time to get to know who she is reviewing and what the items are before blasting off about it. Sounds like a flea market hunter to those of us who know the field.
This is a good standby. The cheese coverage is good and sauce is pretty tasty. The parmesan cheese on the crust is a nice touch, but everytime I have eaten here, my crust is slightly burnt, which seems common for pizza places in Charlotte. I prefer my crust to be more pliable since I am a “folder”. The beer selection is fun – definitely some unique choices on tap. This is not the place to go if you just want a greasy pizza and a pitcher of light beer, but it is a good restaurant to keep in your rotation. And I LOVE the garlic knots! I’ll keep coming here until I find the “perfect” pizza by my standards. Pros + Good flavor, Good outdoor seating, Good beer selectionCons – Crispy crust
After traveling around Charlotte a good 2 – 3 hours we found Ciro’s by mistake when we had decided to go back to the hotel were the convention was being held. Upon entry the place was packed and I thought that we would be there for at least an hour before being seated. To our surprise the Owner (originally from Italy) came over and introduced himself and ask if we had been waiting long (This was after about 5 minutes). During our chat, the attendant called our name and seated us (approx. 10 minutes). The atmosphere was excellent, the owner even played several Italian selections on his accordion. Very romantic. My wife and I had an excellent dinner and the service was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any visitor at University Place in Charlotte. And for any racing fan there is a unique story between the owner and famed racing personality/former driver Benny Parsons. So drop by and read the article on the right hand wall as soon as you enter. Pros + excell
