Where is the Best Pet Grooming in Los Angeles, California?
The SM Pet Project is simply first rate. Professional, caring, gentle with the animals. My wife and I have been consistently delighted with the service, price and service. I am highly suspicious of the one strong negative review – which is cut and pasted from other review sites (Google maps etc). I wonder if it is genuine, or the result of some other less honest purpose. On Google maps, for example, it is the only negative review out of 29, here the only negative out of 5. Go figure. Regardless, after years of being frustrated and disappointed with other groomers, and felling overcharged for mediocre work, we are genuinely delighted to have found Pet Project. We were lucky – we were told about it thanks to a chance meeting in a SM dog park. That positive word of mouth is, surely, the best advertising of all. Ask around – this place has a solid reputation resulting from great work. Frankly, I hate to think that someone is using on-line review boards to attempt to trash a good
If you live or work on the westside and are looking for the ultimate in doggie day care, this is the place! Specializing in small dogs, the lobby area is adorable, dogs can nap on a princess-style bed behind a white picket fence in individualized areas, the kitchen makes meals per request, a bathing area for baths or “spa treatments” (no grooming per say) and a petite yard lets the little ones romp and play. The mother-daughter staff is super sweet and networking with other, uber chic doggie lovers may happen here. The stickler is the PRICE but if you can afford it the benefits are there… The Club: $250 family membership until Jan. 1 and $49.95/month; $93.75/day or day care for 2 dogs (1 dog is around $60); $750/month at 2 visits/week with 2 dogs; $150/night or boarding for 2 dogs;
I have been taking my dog to Sparky’s since it opened and every time we go I am always amazed at the quality of work that they do. My dog looks so much better than he used to when I had to go to a different groomer because Sparky’s was not open yet. The first time I used them I knew I had found a new groomer. The great thing is how much my dog seems to like everyone at Sparky’s and how professional they act towards me. The place is so cute it just makes you feel comfortable from the get go. I would never take my dog anywhere else and I highly recommend Sparky’s to anyone who needs grooming services they are true dog lovers and Professionals. Thanks Sparky’s
I checked this place out before hand and the employees seemed kind and pleasant, and the place relatively clean and organized (a little smelly but not abnormally so for a kennel). They wouldn’t let me go see the area where the dogs were kept (I understand this is standard policy at most places) but they showed me on a b&w monitor the dogs in a large area. The dogs looked happy (i.e. tails wagging, friendly play). They assured me that someone was there WITH THE DOGS at all times (not just watching on a monitor). This was important to me b/c my dog, while she gets along fine with other dogs, is a people dog and gets nervous without people around. Anyway, I dropped off my dog there and first of all I handed them a tin with the dog’s food in it. They looked at it and were like “I hope you don’t want this tin back because I’m sure we’ll misplace it.” Um, fine. I didn’t really care about the tin, but I thought “how hard could it be to keep track of a tin with the dog’s name on it?”
The boys are very friendly and that when I always go there…the woman owner seems a little loud and pushy so I stay away from her but the boys are great and always my little doxie beautifully. He is never traumatized by any of his experiences of my going there the last three months. They are very competitively priced and I am always pleased by their work. When we walk by on other days, the dog always stops and pauses there to sniff so I know he must like the place. Pros + Value, Timing and ResultsCons – None
