Service and food were excellent. Warm and soft sourdough rolls started the meal with a toasted walnut and sage butter. We’re vegetarians, so we ordered one bowl of wild mushroom soup made with vegetable stock (2 thumbs up!). Don’t even think about sharing your soup spoon. An extra one will mysteriously appear, thanks to the discreet but attentive wait staff. We also had the baby arugula + blood oranges salad (very fresh) and the mixed greens and beet salad (savory). For entrees we had Semolina Ravioli with Spinach and Ricotta (delicious) and Portobello Piccata with a Fallen Spinach Soufflé and Goat Cheese (tasty but a bit fussy.)For dessert, the Mascarpone Cheesecake with rasperries and graham cracker crust was substantive and satisfying. The wine recommendation was helpful. We are not crazy about Italian wines, but the Chianti the waiter recommended was surprisingly good! Overall, the ambience was relaxing and romantic.

Wow. My husband and I went here for dinner last night because his parents had given us a gift card for his birthday a few months ago. The only other time I’ve been to Captial Grille was in Boston over 7 years ago. Dear God, why have I waited so long to return?? Perhaps it’s because I didn’t remember it being quite this good. For starters let me say that the food was phenomenal, the service fantastic, and the ambiance spot on.We decided to begin dinner with a dirty martini (me) and a Sam winter (hubby). My martini was great, and arrived with either a choice of either regular or Blue cheese stuffed olives to complement my martini. Blue cheese please! My husband was jealous and kept stealing sips and eventually an olive.  I haven’t decided if I’ve forgiven him for that yet…Then, after looking at the sizes of the steaks, we decided we would be plenty full by splitting one along with a few sides. Our waiter agreed (surprise, he didn’t try to pressure us into adding an additional $40 to the

Overall, a great place to go. Expect to spend 200-250 for two people at least if you are drinking 2 or more drinks a piece or wine. But large martinis, great, informative waiters and beautiful decor make this place a must visit. I have been to the Vegas/Palms Nine and I think the Chicago version is better. We asked for local club and bar venues (Ghost bar is right upstairs also) and the bartender came back with a list and detailed what to expect at each place and their closing times. Great job by him. Both our meals were very good, but they slighltly overcooked our ordered rare lamb chops. Not a big deal as there were still good. My bone-in Filet option was a staggering 68 bucks. Good, but on a return visit I would choose the standard filet or one of the cheaper steak versions and use the extra money on an appetizer or more drinks. The caesar salad very well could have been the best I have ever had (no anchovies per request). Some small flaws but worth the visit in Chicago’

I went here for dinner because it was convenient to my location, was suggested to be reasonably priced, and had outdoor seating. They also accepted opentable.com reservations. The wine selection was good, and even wines by the glass were good. My friend said his meal was delicious, as was the amuse, but my “Kobe” beef was simply fatty beef. Also, the “reasonably priced” part was a joke. This site says average $15-25/entree. The cheapest thing was $22, and most were $28+. 2 entrees and 4 glasses of wine = $100+ before tip! The quality of food (at least mine) did not demand this price. Also, we were late (but called), and were the only ones in the place. The reataurant marked us as late, reducing my opentable points. Outdoor seating is nice, and the chef obviously has the ability, but the cost suggests you wait until they figure it out.

For starters, parking is a breeze, and it’s along the Peterson and Kimball bus routes. I’ve passed by this place frequently and finally got the chance to try it while a friend and I were looking for a place to eat.. The owner was super-friendly and the place inside reminded me of many restaurants I ate in while living in Italy and visting Spain. My friend ordered the squid, which was amazingly good. She even stated it was cleaned very well and was so fresh she could “taste the ocean.”I had a special that day of rice, beef, onions and tomatos cooked in white wine, which was delicious!!! My next choice was “Escalopes De Cerdo,” sauteed pork severed in a sherry sauce. Incredible!!!!!I also noticed two tables surrounded us with clientel speaking in Castilian Spanish, which is a big plus for this place Pros + Great, food prices, byob
