Where is the Best People Watching in Boston, Massachusetts?
I went to Stix recently during Restaurant Week. The food was great, everything tasted great just like everyone else had already mentioned. I ordered the Caesar Salad, really good, the Pasta with mushrooms and cream sauce… I don’t remember the name, but I CAN say that it was one of the best pasta dishes that I had ever tasted in my life, and dessert which was chocolate truffles on sticks, four of them. For the most part, the portion of my appetizer and pasta was pretty good, but the dessert was extremely lacking. When I saw four tiny chocolate pieces on sticks, I was disappointed. The name of the dessert did not sound like that all. The reason why I give this an average rating is because the waitress was a bit slow. She took forever to take our orders and to give us our check, AND we were the only ones there. Getting her attention was extremely difficult.
I think the food at Lucca was very good, esp. the rigatoni with wild boar. The selection in the menu was a bit small, esp. the apetizers. The price is a little bit expensive, the cost of seared beef tenderoin was $36, I think I have had similar food with comparable quality elsewhere but at a cheaper price. The pasta dishes are all expensive, $25++. The waiter was new and a bit confused which was a minus point. And, there is no valet parking. I went the Tiki Room and had fun, but I wouldn’t make it an all the time thing. You definately pay for the atmosphere, because for three pu pu platters, a scorpion bowl, a pina colada, and two shots, it was around $160. And that was with 10% off. I don’t recommend the drinks there if you have a high tolerance; there’s not much alcohol in there. The food was alright, we had the Fenway and Classic Pu Pu, and then the S’mores Pu Pu, which I definately recommend. The quesadilla, buffalo wings, and egg rolls were the best. I don’t recommend the Peking dumplings. Also, the waitress didn’t give us our leis until the end of the meal, and we had to ask. I’d probably go back only occasionally or for a group night out.Cons – Parking, Price
We stayed at The Langham in Boston for two nights. It’s a very nice hotel with a great location right in the centre of downtown Boston. Despite is dubious location right next to the Mass Pike entrance, the interior of Sorellina transports you out of the hustle and bustle, and into a luxuriously complacent dining experience.The interior boasted very high ceilings, with equally impressive bay windows. One wall holds luscious bottles of vino as high as you can see, another with modern art decor that promotes a comforting ambiance. Despite its sophistication and refinement, the cuisine reminds me of rustic Italian comfort food that my mother and grandmother would recreate from the northern regions of Italy.The service is impeccable, leaving nothing to quander over, or interrupt your dining experience.Sorellina is definitely a for-certain-occasions establishment, however, due to their admittedly steep pricing.All in all, a cute, quaint evening is to be had at the top of Huntington Avenue.Pros + Quick, subtle, and knowledgeable serviceCons – A little on the pricier side of things
