Even though every time I’ve been to Tia’s it’s been busy, I still feel like it’s an underrated bar in the city. Right on the harbor, Tia’s offers good food and a cool place to have a few drinks. It’s one of my favorite bars to go to during the summer because you can stay outside the entire time with their outdoor bar. Nothing too flashy here, but has good beer selection.Pros + Waterfront, Plenty of space outsideCons – Inside bar is very small

For the most part, I’m digging the latest addition to Lydia Shire’s empire. Hidden on the ground floor of the fabulous Liberty Hotel, the airy space, marked off by exposed brick walls and arranged around a spotless open kitchen, is a great place to bring out of town guests for a bit of Boston ambiance and history (the Liberty was an old jail). And compared with Locke-Ober, it’s a far less stuffy, masculine and meat-centric place to sample the cuisine of Lydia Shire, who is herself a piece of Boston history. You can catch her here during the week too, flitting from table to kitchen, and her touch is obvious in the adventurous, clever and substantial foods on the menu. However, there are a few parts of the restaurant that aren’t quite worthy of Shire. The cocktail menu appears to be a thrown-together affair, with silly names and awkward drinks. Boston’s currently in the midst of a torrid love affair with old-fashioned cocktails and deft young bartenders, and Scampo’s not cashing in on

On Sat. I had planned to have a wonderful evening at Cuchi Cuchi for my husband’s birthday. This did not happen. I’m quite disappointed at what happened and the lack of response from management. I discovered Cuchi Cuchi with friends a few weeks ago, and was captured by the ambiance that night. Sat. night was completely the opposite, if it was my 1st visit, it surely would have been my last! We arrived at 7:30pm and were told the wait was an hr. All evening long we watched people who came in after us be seated… we inquired with your hostesses thru out the evening the status for our party. We were told ‘just another 20 minutes’ after 1 hr. After 2 hrs we were told we were the next four top… and we were given bar snacks and a basket of bread. After 2 hrs and 15 mins, we watched another party of 4 who came in 1 hr after us be seated & give the ‘okay’ sign to the hostess…. 3 hours and 8 minutes later at 10:38pm at last we were seated. We ordered 10 different item
