I celebrated my birthday there. The food, service and atmosphere was awesome. I had a party of about 9. I know the menu changes seasonally, but when i dined there the kobe beef dish was DELISH. They have a full bar and an extensive mixed drinks list. I recommended this restaurant to my girlfriend as well..and she celebrated her 30th birthday there. She had about 25+ guests, a prix fixe 3-course menu that her guests could choose from and what’s great about this place is that after you are done dining you can linger in the lounge (they often have DJ’s and parties after dining hours). Go check this place out if you haven’t already.

The food was decent. We try out a lot of restaurants all over the world and the food was 7/10 by our standards. The view was good and we had been there for a lunch visit prior. So we decided to plan a special occasion dinner. .First when we made reservations, we asked for a window seat. When we noted this upon our arrival, the hostess said no we could not have a window seat. We got there and the window seats were empty for 1/2 an hour. Another couple came in, were showed to a seat without a window ,noted the same thing and asked for the window seat and were finally given it. The person who took reservations at our first visit for lunch had told us there were no reservations on a certain day. When we called back there were plenty of reservations. We were told there were no booster seats for children, assumed no children were allowed so obtained a babysitter for our very well behaved, restaurant savvy 5 year old. Then we got there, noticed other much younger children present with boost

Ponzu is good at the pan asian thing, but I am from Connecticut where the king of pan Asian cuisine, chef Bun Lai, resides in his one of a kind restaurant, Miya. Once you’ve been to Miya, you are ruined for anything else pan Asian, and I am not exaggerating on iota. Where can I get an “Ebibaba” in SanFran? We have great great restaurants here but is there anything around like Miya’s Sushi? If you arn’t going to be in Connecticut, at least take a peek at chef Bun Lai’s myspace page which is unusual, to say the least.

I?ve been here before and each time, I have had a very pleasant dining experience. On top of that, did you know this restaurant is teaming up with StreetSmart4kids? It?s actually really cool what they?re doing. I just heard about how SS4K is a nonprofit organization that helps underprivileged teens stay healthy. They are running their ?Dine Out and Donate? campaign here (as well as approx. 70 other restaurants in SF) during October and early November. After having a fabulous dining experience, just fill out the donation form when paying the check (minimum donation $3). This is perfect for people like me, who love to eat out all the time and also like to give back to the community. Check it out for yourself on the StreetSmart4Kids website!
