I love the food at Tangerine Cafe. I am a big fan on well done spicy thai food, and this place delivers. Too many places just add a junk load of red pepper flakes and that destroys the flavor. For the spice lovers out there, ordering your dish “thai spicy” is a magical experience – this is some serious heat with great flavor. Don’t be deceived after your first bite, the fire is on its way and will hut you in ways you would never expect. There will be a party in your mouth and a tear in your eye. You will be releived when you finish the spicy goodness, but thinking about the experience and counting down the days until your next order.Pros + The food, the service, the party in your mouthCons – The feeling when you finish the rice pudding and want more

# of Visits : several The Good : First of all, they have real wasabi. I’m not talking about the tube stuff, the real root! I’ve not seen any other sushi restaurant in this area use real wasabi root and grate it for you freshly. They also had two other variations of real wasabi, this is very impressive. Even when I was in L.A. there wasn’t many restaurants that carried this many variations of wasabi. Their fish has always been very fresh everyone time I have dined here. I don’t think I’ve had one bad experience as far as the quality goes. I was quite please with their nigiri sushi and sashimi presentation as well. Because of the “not so traditional” atmosphere, I didn’t expect it but their sushi and sashimi is probably one of the best in town. Their special rolls were good as well, I especially enjoyed their screaming o, white tiger, and one other roll that was not on their menu which I forgot the name of…but it had seared scallops on top with sliced lemon. I’ve had the screaming

I ordered off the Price Fixe Menu for lunch – $12 for choice of appetizer, entree, and dessert. I had the salad which was bigger than i expected and their ginger dressing was creamier than i was used to, but very good. I chose the Tofu and Broccoli entree. The broccoli were cooked perfect – bright green and crunchy – they must have been steamed. And the tofu was placed in the middle. It was steaming hot with a crispy outside and thick delicious sauce. With the scoop of ice cream, it was just enough to satisfy me without weighing me down the rest of the day. My service was great – ask for Sean. I can’t speak for the dinner portions as other reviewers had, but my meal size and quality was well worth $12.Pros + Unique menu, excellent serviceCons – Parking – i drove around and parked in the street
