Where is the Best Pan Asian Food in Dallas, Texas?
We have been trying Thai restaurants in Dallas for 20 years and have seen all the good ones slowly lose their quality. We have been looking for years for another good one to come along – and it’s FINALLY here! It’s a long drive from Lakewood and you have to know it’s there (Skillman just north of LBJ on right), but it is sooooo worth it! My husband is extremely particular about the quality of restaurant food and therefore, hard to please. The shrimp tempura was delightful, the dipping sauce delicious and unique, and beautifully presented on the plate. The soups are made to order and the wonton is our favorite (though they’re all good!), with shrimp and pork dumplings, baby bok choy, chives and cilantro. He ordered a filet mignon, which was as good as any fine steak house, cooked to perfection, served on a balsalmic vinegar reduction (sounds weird, but it was incredible), and served with perfectly grilled vegetables. Best Dim Sum in Dallas Fort Worth! It is really hard to find good Cantonese food in the DFW area. There are lots of average Chinese restaurants, but Hong Kong Royal is by far the best chinese / cantonese / dim sum restaurant. We have been to other places including Arlington and Richardson locations of other Dim Sum restaurants but Hong Kong Royal is by far the best. It has a pretty unassuming exterior but great interior and is really easy to find and get to since it is at the South East corner of Frankford Road and Josey Lane in the middle of Carrollton. The wait staff is very nice and helpful, not all of the staff is completely fluent in English but the menu is easy to read and most of the staff speaks very good english. Our recommendations are basically any of the dumplings. Everything we have had there is good but the dumplings are all awesome.
I go to this Thai Zone place very often for lunch during weekdays since my office is about 5 minutes away. My favorite lunch dish is Pad Kee Mow chicken and Yellow curry fried rice. 3 stars spicy (medium spicy) is what I can handle. The daily lunch special comes with a cup of vegetible soup. And for $1.00 more you can add an eggroll to your dish. I’ve tried many thai places in DFW but this is the best of the best. Bring someone special to this place and you will like it. I am a region sales manager and spent most weeks at night in hotels eating delivery and working from my hotel room. I have eaten Thai from coast to coast and while I can’t say I would consider myself an expert on traditional Thai, I do make a mean Tom Yum soup at home. Thai Tanee is a terrific example of a family owned, exceptional Thai restaurant. I had The Tom Yum, Pad Thai, Tad Mun Pla (Fish Cakes), spicy Basil Chicken, Spicy grilled Salad, and the salad rolls recently over my last four day trip to Dallas. The menu is a balanced blend of traditional Thai and Thai fusion dishes, and everything I’ve had was fresh, flavorful, and incredibly tasty. The Grilled salad was perhaps the best salad I’ve ever had anywhere and the spicy Basil was great. The Pad Thai was better than average.
