Where is the Best Pan Asian Food in Boston, Massachusetts?
I am an absolute food snob and recently discovered Misono after moving close by. The first time I tried their restaurant, I made it an telephone order to go. I can honestly say I have NO idea where the other commenter got the idea that people get cheated on phone orders! I got wonderful service and I have ordered food by phone multiple times and I have NEVER had a problem. Not to mention the fact that the food is great, the people who serviced my over the phone and the people who I talked to inside the restaurant are fabulous! Misono has great prices, really good food, creative dishes, and great employees. I am so glad that they are in walking distance from me, so I can walk off some calories before having dinner, stuff myself until I can barely move, and then I can walk some of it off on the way home! 🙂 The only thing I would recommend is calling ahead of time because even though they close at 10 P.M. It’s much appreciated!!Anyway, I’ve been to Myers + Chang on multiple occasions. I’ve only had a wait once. That was this past Saturday/V-Day/Chinese New Year slamfest. We had a reservation, our table was dissecting their dessert and/or performing Gatz in its 7-hour entirety… who knows? Anyway, we had about a 30-40 minute wait. Cheri comped my party drinks. Totally nice of her, I felt it was a good way to handle the situation. A Changarita makes everything better, no?I love the funky atmosphere. I love that stuff you order comes out as it’s ready so it’s piping hot and you don’t feel like a complete fatty because you ordered the entire menu and it is currently on your table. The food is Nobu/Morimoto good. The prices are Nobu/Morimoto expensive. The sushi and sashimi are unbelievably fresh and masterfully prepared. Plates look like they belong in the Museum of Fine Arts. The hot items are good too. I can’t complain about any of the 8 things we ordered. I strongly suggest some of the vegetable items as well. These are some of the better deals on the menu. Overall, portions are tiny for the prices, so you should be prepared to spend A LOT of money if you are coming for a meal. Also, the sakes they have selected are really fantastic. Give them a shot, along with the fantastic Japanese wheat ale they have on the menu.If there’s one thing they can do better here, the waiters need to be a bit more knowledgeable and professional. I recently just visited Bettys on Huntington Avenue with my family. When we just got there the restaurant seemed very busy due to the Red Sox game. However, we did get a table quick and sat down. Since we all have different taste in wine, our server, Marcelo was extremely nice and explained to us the differences in their wine selection. At the beggining of dinner we got a little overwhelmed with the menu. Marcelo helped us thru the process and was kind enough to help all of us with our menu. The ambience was super nice. They were playing spanish music which was very well appreciated by my mother and aunt. All the staff seemed very happy and helpful. From the moment that we walked in to the moment that we left, we received innumerous smiles from the staff. The food quality was excellent.
