Expect to run into mortgage brokers, lawyers, and accountants here because the bar is where they like to do a lot of their drinking, evidently. The kitchen, on the other hand, is a little less serious…

This place has diversity, its great. If you play by the rules (have id, shoes, dressed decently), you will have a good time. The decor and ambience is soothing. Men – ambitious, trendy, blazer sporting. Women – 2nd year law or advertising 30 year olds. Haa, just kidding. If you are someone who prefers to still hear “Brass Monkey” when out for the night, visit on Friday night (graduated frat crowd). If you are like me and wear a t-shit with a $3K Breitling, visit on Sat night…its more U.N.

This is your typical neighborhood hangout where locals can eat outside where they have set up tables and chairs just like a lot of the other restaurants there, or just inside at a table or at the bar. We were a big group so we couldn’t be seated outside since it was a nice sunny day and the outdoor seating was full. The service was adequate and the food just slightly below. The chef seems to want to spice everything up, regardless if it says so on the menu such as the eggs chesapeake, the pork sandwich and the lobster chowder. The poached eggs seemed almost like a soft-boiled egg. I understand the burger was pretty good, but nothing was outstanding.Pros + outdoor diningCons – parking

According to our bartender, their resident wine director buys out an entire years of any particular wine that she falls in love with, so many of the labels are exclusive to District. Tasting flights come in thoughtful combinations like “Bubbles Around The World”, or “Oak vs Stainless”. We started off with an “Aromatic Whites” flight, mussels w/ Pernod cream, and truffled hamachi tartare w/ uni sauce. Moved on to a “Spices & Berries” flight, juicy lamb meatballs, and capered beef carpaccio. Killer. We made the mistake of trying to eat here the night of a Giants game, and had to drive around the block 5 times before we found parking, but we’re glad we stuck with it. We had unknowingly come on the last night they would be open on a Sunday, and were surprised at how comfortably empty the place was. Had our choice of seating, but decided it would be more fun to sit at the bar. They will be closed on Sundays from now on and opening up on Mondays along with every other day of the week
