The bartender in the back room on Friday night was pathetic at best. Lazy, slow and lacking in knowledge of drinks. I asked for a Jim Beam and Coke. He told me they didn’t have Jim Beam. I pointed to the shelf behind him at the full bottle of Jim Beam sitting there. Later I order a Disoronno sour. He gave me a generic brand amaretto. I told him that I had ordered Disoronno. He asked if I would just go ahead and take the no-name brand and he would use the Disoronno for the next order.The DJ Michael Roos however is one of the best in Dallas! Wow! The first time I dined at Dragonfly it was an exciting place to be on the weekend the beautiful hostesses opened the door for me and greeted me with smiles that made my night. The second time I went to Dragonfly the hostesses were dressed strangely in a black toga looking outfit (not appropriate for the thyme of the restaurant) and it led me to believe it was an Asian restaurant (even though its not) but they were helpful and at least had beautiful faces. The servers were very knowledgeable and made the dining experience wonderful again. It was hard to get a hold of a manager to discuss an event I wanted held at Dragonfly and it became frustrating and I decided against having my party there. Other than that I would recommend small groups dining there for a good time. Just don?t expect to get help from a manager.
I love this place. Who knew you could have a real winery in the middle of Dallas. The place is a cross between a hip urban lounge and a winery that you might find in Napa. I was introduced to Times Ten by a friend and now I bring all of my friends. I recommend doing a tasting on your first visit where you can choose what you like. They have a very attractive, friendly, and knowledgeable staff but your best bet is to find one of the 3 owners. One of them is always there and I like getting their recommendations. If they have time they will even take you on a tour. They have a limited food menu but let you bring in food or even have it delivered. I’ve seen their wines on a few local menus and I hope to see even more places serve their wines. My only complaint is that there prices are a little high for bottles to take home.
