I’ve been to Muu-muus a few times, so when we were deciding on a lated night dinner this Thursday during the holiday season, we both thought Muu-Muus was just what we were looking for. We walked in and were surprised that even though people were smoking, it smoke in the air wasn’t as bad as other bars (a plus). The atmosphere was great, good music playing, many people inside, but we didn’t feel like sardines in a can (a plus). After sitting down we ordered a peppermint patty (delicious winter drink) and something resembling a mojito which both came promptly and tasted great (two pluses). Our server was very nice, attentive, and helpful (plus). Food came very quickly and was yummy (plus). HOWEVER, just after our food was set on the table, the music changed from a nice worldly tune to “Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo.” (This is a song about a piece of holiday feces that talks, walks, and sings in the cartoon show South Park). Not the kind of song you want to listen to while eating.

The music at the Candlelight is always good, bartenders are great. The dance floor is way to small for the amount of business they do, and whatever you do if you get on the dance floor, STAY AWAY FROM THE BACK CORNER OF THE DANCE FLOOR! For some reason men try to get you to that dark corner and fondle and do things you may not like! I always have fun when I go and feel safe walking in by myself however, LADIES BEWARE…MOST OF THE MEN I’VE MET THERE ARE BIG TIME “PLAYERS” But it is very entertaining to watch them “play”

Wow – a wine bar without attitude and that has a beautiful view, good food and a great selection of wines. Albeit they focus on Pacific Northwest wines, not something I usually gravitate toward – but their selection is delicious and the staff knows how to point you to what you will like. For the adventirous – they also have…

All of the food on the entire menu is only $3.50 – a great variety of typical McMenamins fare (salads, sandwiches, burgers). The cocktails are reasonably priced, too. I had an amaretto espresso concoction that was absolutely divine, especially considering the chilly evening. The cosmo was splendid as well. Service is also typical McMenamins – well-meaning but sketchy in the attention department.Pros + tasty foods, delicious drinks, funky areaCons – chilly, marginal service
