Where is the Best Outdoor Dining in Richmond, Virginia?
I went to Thai Garden a few weeks ago and was satisfied. I had the shrimp pad thai and crispy rolls. I thought the sauce to the pad thai could have been better. I believe I had the traditional sauce (I try to go mild with Thai) and it had more of a tomato kind of base to it. It was not as good as another local Thai restaurant in the area and they were stingy with the shrimp. However, it is beautifully decorated, the patio area is lovely and they do have friendly service which is hard to find in Richmond. Pros + atmosphereCons – stingy with seafood
I guess I should not have expected much but the service by out waitress was atrocious. She came to our table maybe once every 30 minutes. Our glasses and beers remained empty for what seemed like ages. It was especially annoying since there were perhaps 20 people in the entire place and 2 waitstaff. The food was decent but nothing special. Live music is a plus. I’d skip it and hit Sidewalk unless you live in the Bottom.Pros + Food, Live MusicCons – , Atmosphere, Noise
Best calamari in Richmond. My favorite seafood place so far. Have not tried Mile Post 5 yet. Love all of their appetizers and not much to miss on the menu. Ambience is great. Jazz is a nice touch. Wine selection is wide and varied but their house wine is excellent. Little pricey but worth it.Pros + food, ambience, wineCons – price
I recently ate at Patina for the first time based on a friend’s recommendation. Even though they were extremely busy (a Saturday night) the host made us feel special and offered the 6 of us “the big ass booth.” The waiter was knowledgeable and suggested 2 awesome wines to complement our dinners. I had the best and most unusually presented caesar salad I’ve ever had, followed by pecan dusted rabbit that was done perfectly over pasta. I also tasted a friends smoke shrimp and scallop dinner that was terrific as well. All of the desserts sounded great but the winner was a chocolate martini. The restaurant was beautiful with lots of copper and marble, but hard to describe. -casual elegant- Patina was much nicer than what I expected from a strip mall. Patina grillis definitely a great place for dinner or drinks on date night.Pros + outside dining, great food, well spaced tablesCons – far west end, reservations, strip mall
