Was looking forward to Bookbinders for our weekly nice dinner for my husband and I. Its pretty inside and the ambience is nice. They honored our request and got us a booth so that we could sit next to each other. Most of the patrons have their nose up in the air, so be careful. We don’t feel the need to flaunt our money, but it seemed many people here did. Server was unpleasant the entire time. We had to ask for bread from 3 people 4 times. It finally came with our entree. Not a good start to the meal. However, I must admit it was the best bread I’ve had in Richmond. hot sourdough, amazing butter. The caesar salads were quite good, and we both enjoyed them. I ordered the petite filet and my husband the blackened tuna. We both thought our dishes were good, but not over-the-top. They were satisfying, but not the best. For dessert we tried the key lime which is in a chocolate cookie crust. Interesting combination, but oh-so-good. Server never got friendlier. However, I would go back for t

On a warm, lovely night in Richmond, this is a great place to go for drinks and hanging out. From other reviews, we expected the margaritas to be good and the food mediocre. We found the opposite. The margaritas were large and refreshing, but the frozen lime margarita was really weak on flavor – the mango better – so go with the fresh fruit ones – and don’t expect an alcohol buzz. A large basket of warm chips greeted us, with a chunky tomato salsa that could have used a bit of spicing up, but was obviously fresh. Two of us had the chipolte shrimp, and it was a tasty platter of fresh cooked veggies, flavorful sauce on the shrimp, and a nice fruit/bean salsa. Some our our group also got the enchiladas and fajitas and there were no complaints from them. It seems there’s also usually a good beer special – and prices were great for these beers. The hostess was reluctant to put us (5!) at a table on the patio for drinks only – as initially we thought we would not be doing dinner. She also

Beer here is ok considereing Richmond, VA lacks in the beer brewing business. The food was what you would expect for a beer pub. I ordered the mussels as an appetizer-very good. The crowd is variable. The bar gives the sense that there have been many good memories made there as they have individual beer mugs placed around the bar. On different nights they have music. Miss Sunday night (blue grass night). Nothing against bluegrass music but apparently fans don’t shower. Place had an overwhelming staunch of body odor there that night.Pros + beer, crowd, seatingCons – Sunday night
