Where is the Best Outdoor Dining in Nashville, Tennessee?
We enjoyed some good to great food at Mambu recently. The drinks, however, are not good. We ordered some margaritas and mojitos. The margarita tastes like it comes from a bottle of bad sour mix, the mojitos are the worst I have ever tasted (imagine liquid spearmint gum). We went a backup bottle of wine – too bad it was served at about 85 degrees (note to owner/bar manager: you need to chill white wine and slightly chill red wine to about 55-60 degrees). It’s too bad that you cannot get a great meal and a great drink at Mambu, hopefully they will read this and make it an even better experience!Pros + Food, service, venueCons – Drinks, Drinks, Drinks… Wow.
Went here for lunch with my husband, we ordered the coconut shrimp and prime rib. while the food was promptly delivered, and the shrimp were amazing, the prime rib was a great cut but not the rural-herb-encrusted seared that my husband likes. it was sent back and an apologetic waitress filled his plate with ribeye. It was a valiant effort to correct the situation, just a little too late. The ribeye was fatty and overcooked slightly. We left thinking that it would be the last time. We went back again tonite with his parents. The waiter remembered us from the other day, and immediately brought out a free 10$ fantastic appetizer. The rest of the meal was so well-timed and pleasant, the owner even came out to ask if this was better. The quality of the food was really the best I’ve had in a restaurant. If we ever come back to Nashville, even to visit We’ll eat here again. They bent over backwards to see that our experience was the best. Go Ellendale’s!!Pros + friendly night staff, coz
don’t get me wrong, I like Mafiaoza’s, but it really isn’t because of the pizza. Tuesday two for one is pretty enticing. But it is hard to get excited about the pizza. two things that make great pizza to me are the crust and sauce. mafiaoza’s has great crust, but the sauce really lacks, the last couple of pizza’s I got barely had any at all. A friend ordered the buschetta and it came as a big loaf of bread with the tomatoes just poured over the top. Not really appetizing. For happy hour go to Mafiaoza’s, but for Pizza go to Angelos Picnic Pizza.
I’ve eaten here a few times: a couple at the old location, and a couple at the new one. At the old location, it won Best of Nashville for “Restaurant with a View”, now it’s tucked next to overflow parking for downtown events. Coming from the northeast where Italian food abounds, I was never blown away by the food. I mean, it’s good. It’s just not what you’d want for a last meal on deathrow. The last time I went (at the new location), I was uninspired. The food was (again) just OK, but this time they had to raise the prices to cover the move to the new location. Needless to say, it wasn’t that great to begin with, and was overpriced at the old location.This is a bit sad, given that there really aren’t many non-franchise Italian restaurants in Nashville, and just about all of them are merely acceptable in the food dept, and in that regard, they’re usually inconsistent.
