Where is the Best Outdoor Dining in Detroit, Michigan?
I’ve been to this Restaurant & bar side about 10 times. I’ve had an overall good experience, but I do have to say that it’s a bit expensive for what you get. Restaurant: Great Lobster Bisque, fabulous Sunday Brunch w/ omelets to order & every starch (including excellent potatoe casserole) & meat to think of. It’s good for lunch, with a good vegetarian sandwich & a variety of unique wraps & salads. Dinner gets pricey, but I’ve had seafood & chicken dishes here that really weren’t bad, worth the price. Bar: I’ve been on the 80’s band night – hysterical & a surprisengly talented cover band! It’s a very large bar area & dance floor (and seating areas) & if it’s during the summer months they have a spacious deck out by the water w/ an outdoor bar. It can be pretty dead in there sometimes – it’s hitt or miss. There’s a pretty good mix when there’s a crowd though, older & younger people, casual & dressed to the nines….it all goes there. I also thought (when it’s busy) that it was a pretty c
WOW! What a great destination. Tucked into a residential side street in sleepy Downtown Northville is this slice of Italy. Set up like an Italian village, Little Italy has an excellent “ristorante”, a way cool bar (Bacchus Bar) for casual dining with more spirit selections than I have ever seen in my life, the lower level wine cellar is incredible, and the neatest Italian market/pizzeria carry-out (Hutton Street Market) jam packed with wine and Italian specialties. They have a great selection of ready to heat and eat foods and bottle their own sauces. The best Italian food I have had outside of Italy. Great steaks (try the fillet), seafood, homemade pastas. The market carry-out pizzas are also available in the bar (a must try). Top notch high quality food and a super waitstaff make you feel better than family. Overall, an incomparable experience. Handsdown, my favorite restaurant. THANK YOU Little Italy!Pros + The Food. The Wine. Onsite Parking (By-The-Door Parking For Carry-Out.)
We arrived there on a Saturday night, around 7. We were told there would be about a an hour wait. We expected that, so headed to the bar. The bartenders were great, we got our drinks in no time (after the bartender helped me decide what I wanted, a really good fruity strong martini- but I forgot the name) and they asked us if we wanted to eat at the bar. We hadn’t planned on it- but asked to see a menu, and asked if maybe we could order an appetizer since it would be awhile – “Oh absolutely” she said. There is nothing worse than having bartenders act like the only thing you can get at the bar is a drink- they probably screw themselves quite a bit. Anyway, ordered the Calimari. They brought us bread and within a few minutes the calimari was dropped off. It was exceptional. We finished and since it had been about 40 minutes decided to pay our tab, but only after they talked us into one more drink- just in case :)(which we were glad we did). About 15 minutes later (right at the hour mark
I absolutely hate restaurants that have total valet parking and no self parking and then call the $4 charge a ‘service charge’. That’s so you can still tip on top of that exhorbitant fee. Valet parking is not needed in a country where everyone is fat…we can all certainly use the exercise. The guy probably drove my car a grand total of 50 feet.We complained about the salad ($13 with no meat, fish or poultry on it) with warm bacon dressing and the fact that the dressing was congealed. The waiter just said gosh he usually gets good reviews on it and it appeared on our bill despite our disatisfaction with it. The high prices are out of line..you don’t even get a vegetable or starch with your $30-$40 plus meal..only the lone fish or meat on your plate. They charged $11 for a side of asparagus with cheese!I tried to make small talk to the bartender before our dinner and he didn’t even reply to my attempt at conversation. He’s been there for years, which I commented on, thinking he’d be
