Where is the Best Outdoor Bar in Dallas, Texas?
I believe I only had a really good time maybe once or twice out of the I would say four or five times that I have gone. I like that ladies are always free and the whole place is very nice but that would be about it for me. If you get there too late, you have to wait not in a line. Actually its not a line. Its a bunch of people crowded around the ropes and the door guy picks whoever he wants to come in. So to avoid that, I would recomend getting there before 10:30 especially if your black. Yea, I said it. I don’t really know but it sure does remind me of the movie knocked up. For all white people who saw that movie, it was funny what the door guy said, but in all honestly that is the real life truth. When they do that, best believe not many of US are getting in. So if your black, get there early. Also, there really isnt much room for a dance floor AND the drinks are waaaay too expensive. I asked for a long island and it was more like a watered down short island and the guy charges me 12
I’m going with a 3 for the holistic value. The food isn’t bad, but can be a bit pricey depending on what you want. It’s a good place to sit outside at night and catch some live music that won’t blare your ears off. Parking here is horrendous out front, their parking lot is really tiny. They sell cigars and you can smoke them outside in the outdoor area should you choose. I get a real “Austin” kind of vibe on the weekend nights, for whatever that’s worth. I’m not sure of the nationality of the owners, but the older white lady that works there really comes off as being shrewd. And I’ve heard LOTS of people say that. I wish she would get an attitude check because I can imagine it drives some customers away. Aside from that, it’s a neat little place. Kind of in an odd spot on Preston, but it’s pretty close to the Preston/190 exit… convenient for anyone living in the northern parts of the dee eff dub.
I have to say that it is the best chicken and Dumplings I have ever tasted. INSANE!!! The beer is cold and the atmosphere is wonderful. great porch and great bar. Live rright around the corner and wonderful neighborhood bar. Pros + Good food and AtmosphereCons – parking is tough so I walk from the house
Been to a lot of clubs/lounges throughout the country, I have seen snazzier, bigger places, but the atmosphere at candleroom is awesome. Not because of the place , but because of the people. (This is why a place stays in business over 1.5 years) The door guy Ali, is polite and courteous, not a muscle bound power hungary maniac. he is pretty fair in letting people on a first come basis regrdless of race or gender (unlike some places i know), sure the members get VIP service , but thats business, if you do not understand that, stay home and continue to watch reruns of “Freinds” Tommy D and Sean run a great place with a friendly staff. The only drawback is that i think it way too crowded on Saturday night, I say hold the line to let the folks enjoy themselves inside, or word of advise come early and avoid the lines. Prices are standard, DJ plays a mixture from top 40 , to classics, to songs everyone sings too. Good scene..an occasional celebrity or two on Wednsday/Saturday night. A
