Where is the Best Offbeat Store in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania?
I visited NYC for two weeks from SF and was informed that Philadelphia was a must see for the Art Museum and the Rodin Museum. This was one of the best side trips I have ever made..So many great things to see and Very friendly people..especially charming were the little shops and restaurants..One shop in particular stand out..Blendo..Amazing Italian designer jewelry for a fair $$.. and the oddest and most unique little objects..I guess you could call them gifts but I’m keeping them all for myself..Is that bad??Cute bags and sweet people..What else could you wish for??I love San Francisco but Philly looks like a good second choice on the best place to live scale.Pros + sweet little and friendlyCons – It’s not in San Francisco
I met the owner of Mixed Company on a First Friday–what a great gal! Her eye for the unusual, and ability to MIX Japanimation and French Countyr/Paris Chic is amazing. Mixed Company is definately a good name for this shop that goes from kitschy to Paris Chic in two steps. I love when someone asks me ‘what are you going to use those for’ when I buy something, because it’s never the original use. Mixed Company is worth a trip from the ‘suburbs’ to see and buy from their great collection of eclectic home furnishings. Forget the ecomony! Spend money! We NEED shops like this. Please support them!Pros + unusual selection, great/fair prices, easy to get toCons – me not living in Phil, n/a, n/a
