Molotov is bar far my favorite bar to go to when out-of-town friends are visiting Austin. It?s located on West Sixth and the rooftop is the perfect place to grab a drink, a table and have a great time. I like it here so much because you can actually sit with friends and hear what they are saying. By no means should you take this as Molotov being dull, it?s the opposite. If you?re looking for the perfect balance between music, people and conversation, Molotov Lounge is where it?s at. The bartenders are also some of the best in town as well!Pros + Rooftop bar, atmosphere, bartenders

This is by far my favorite pub in town. No pretenses. Its refreshing to not have to deal with servers. With serves I always feel cheap when they walk around and I don’t order anything new and have only had about 2 sips from my beer. The bartenders can be hit-or-miss on friendliness. On my 21st birthday, amazing and friendly staff super willing to tell their favorites and let me try them. On my friend’s 21st birthday, the bartender was obviously annoyed when we asked for recommendations. The boy had never had never gone past Bud lite before though, so even I was a bit impatient. The beer is what makes this place. I’m happy with a Bass, but I love trying new things and at 4.50 a pint, mmmm. Imports aren’t always the best buys here either. They have lots of hidden secrets behind their bar. I can’t complain about anything, mostly because it doesn’t falsely advertise anything. In fact, does it actively advertise anything or to anyone at all? And on a strange note: I love the huge Bavarian f

The title says it all. I really like the drinks at Apple Bar, but the last time I went, I was astounded by the bartender’s cocky and ignorant attitude. I can understand being in a rush, but on that day, there were less than 10 people in the whole bar and he still seemed to have problems getting people drinks. There was another guy working who picked up his slack, but I would still prefer not to return to a place with such rude service.Pros + Interesting drinks, Good locationCons – Rude people

I’ve been to this bar many times and it’s never failed to provide an excellent time. They have fun music, and I’ve only recently discovered the “Boom Boom Room” in the back for great dancing. It’s crowded, but full of good-looking people (albeit some are the yuppie-type). As far as the people who have had problems with their credit cards here, I personally never use a credit card at any bar. I only use cash for several reasons: A) I don’t trust myself with one when I’ve been drinking (I tip too much or forget my card at the bar), B) I don’t trust others with my card (especially when they know I’ve been drinking–easier to take advantage), and C)Having a set budget keeps me from drinking too much.Pros + great music, attractive people, great dancingCons – yuppies
