Where is the Best Neighborhood Bar in Dallas, Texas?
I live Downtown and have MANY choices on places to go and we choose the West End Pub. We choose it because everybody REALLY does know your name, there hasn’t been a time when we have gone in that the owner or waitress hasn’t come up as soon as we walk in and say hi. It’s like being a movie star 🙂 I love going to a place that takes such pride in customer service. They have a fantastic happy hour and the drinks are not only a great price, but a great drink if you know what I mean. My boyfriend is a margarita pro and I am pleased to say that he chooses the west End Pub over the MANY mexican restaurant choices we have for a margarita in Downtown. They also have a FREE buffett for happy hour with food that we BOTH like. I really have NOTHING bad to say about this place. Try the couch by the window if there is a open seat, it’s also a great place to people watch. They have a HUGE seating area that you don’t see in this picture so go with 20 of your best friends, they can accomodat
For the setting, the food is solid. Proximity and reasonable quality mean several return visits. Take out ready promptly. Pulled pork sandwich, fire and rice soup and drinks all worth the stop. Service reasonable if not exceptional. Drinks reasonably priced. Best place to go after you leave Luqa hungry. No smoking? Hardly emphysema Zima more likely. What is with these Dallas smoking bylaws?
Wow! Have you tried their pizza? Baylor Hospital is one lucky hospital to have pizza like this so close by. I went to the Elbow room for an early Saturday pizza and was floored by this amazing pizza. I am serious! This is the best pizza in Dallas! The thin crust pizza was my choice and it was hand tossed, with a light sauce and the best aged cheese! I chose the sausage topping and a few other items. The pizza was cooked perfectly and I had to force myself to NOT take another bite. The crust was by far the best thin crust I have had here in Dallas, and my godmother use to own her own pizza place in the Metroplex. As a bar, it was friendly, as soon as we walked in the bartender said hi from across the room with a big smile as I wandered from the 4 rooms and patio choices. Not too bad for what they are calling a neighborhood bar. It was roomy, surprisingly NOT SMOKEY for a smoking bar and had lots of games and seating choices. Great food and a very casual, lively atmosphere. Definitely the best bar in Uptown to meet with your friends and have a good time. If your eating, get the cheddar fries and the burgers – some of the best in Dallas if you ask me. Freindly staff. Gets crowded on the weekends.When the weather’s nice, check out the patio out back.
