This was one of the best massages I have ever had. The massage therapist was very knowledgable about their techniques and were able to focus in on just the right areas. The staff was super friendly and the facility was not only clean but exquisitely decorated. It is pure paradise here.

I finally decided to get a brazilian blowout after I cut my wavy/frizzy hair to shoulder length to try to look more “professional” for my new job. Unfortunately, the haircut required a lot more work each morning because I had to straighten it every day. I read a few reviews for this salon, and Roger in particular, and decided to go for it. I am very happy with my hair. It has been about two weeks since I have gotten it done, and although it is still mostly straight and not frizzy, there is definitely a difference between the first week and now (even though I have been using all the brazilian blow out products). The process takes a long time- almost 3 hours (they estimate around 2 hours but for me it seemed to take extra long because I have a LOT of hair). Also, lately there have been little pieces of skin that appear in my hair when I brush it (like big pieces of dandruff) but they are easy enough to pick out. I think this might be due to the blow drying process because the heat

I happened upon Haven by accident two or so years ago…and more importantly, I happened upon Vladimir! As a woman with chronic neck and shoulder tension, this first meeting wound up changing my life! Vladimir uses exactly the right pressure. He is thorough and does not chat during the massage (n one wants to have a conversation while they’re being massaged!). The real difference, too, is that he goes the extra step…for example, instructing you on exercises/stretches you can do to help your particular problem areas. When he suggested in our first meeting that I could benefit from regular massages, I listened. I’ve now been seeing Vladimir once every 4-6 weeks for about two years and I couldn’t imagine not doing so. What would my neck feel like without Vladimir in my life!?Pros + Vladimir is the best masseur in NYC!Cons – The manicures/pedicures are no better (maybe even not as good) than what you get at any inexpensive nail salon in the city

I would give this place an almost perfect rating… if it weren’t for one nail technician currently employed there. First the good–they are the friendliest staff as far as Park Slope “spas” go. You feel welcomed as soon as you come in. It is a little cramped by the waiting area (not much going there), but you don’t end up waiting long. I have had a few nail treatments done. Whether it was the Elemental mani/pedi, or just the generic, most of the technicians take their time and work, not just your nails, but the whole area. (Add on the extra 10 minute foot massage–it is sooo worth it.) And the best thing about their service is, not once have I ever felt rushed, or as if my appointment is an inconvenience to my technician. (The place on 9th and 7th, on the other hand, will never have my business again for that very reason.) My nails are done well, and I look forward to my return trip everytime. That said, avoid the technician with the gold (I think? or poorly capped) tooth. I can’t
