Where is the Best Nail Salon in Charlotte, North Carolina?
Moving from New York to North Carolina in June 2008 was a BIG change. I was terriffied to have anyone touch my hair. Having the same person cut/style/color my hair for the past 20 years – I was quite nervous. So, going 5 months with bad hair, North Carolina sun damage and plenty of pony tail days, my daughter and I decided it was time – not to fly back to New York for an emergency hair overhaul, but to try a recommended salon. We arrived and EVERYONE was so friendly and sincere. They made us feel like we have been going to Savvy for years. The stylist looked over my hair, asked what I was wanting to achieve and discussed everything she was going to do. Gave an amazing hair wash and scalp massage. She explained simple solutions to make my hair look healthier, explained every detail along the way, even down to how to properly blowdry it. I was totally impressed. The BEST part of all: My fabulous new hair style. My hair NEVER looked so shiny, healthy and felt this soft! I LOVE
My main concern with salons is hygiene, so i typically only go to higher end salons, however, given the economy, i decided to try out something new and am so happy I did! This is one of the best nail salons in charlotte. I was a bit skeptical at first, judging aesthetically from the outside of the salon (you have to walk down steps to get to the salon) but the inside was super clean and the staff was extremely courteous and friendly. I got a manicure and pedicure and my nails look fantastic – great price too! Highly, highly recmmended!!Side note – the service and salon was so excellent, Pros + Clean, courteous, professional, spa like experienceCons – loud place
I was at Modern for several services. My pedicure was fabulous!! It was long-lasting, neat, and my feet never looked better!! However my manicure, done by another woman, left a lot to be desired. I had white tips, which where crooked and uneven, and she left nail polish on my fingertips and around my cuticles. Also, my cuticles looked ragged and messy from where she nipped them. My haircut was a good one (technically) and my stylist could explain why she made the cuts she did, but it wasn’t what I asked for. (I’ve learned from my other stylist how to explain my cut properly, using beauty school terms.) I won’t be back for another cut, that’s for sure. I recommend massages and body treatments, maybe a manicure/pedicure, or a makeup lesson. If you’re set in your style and not open to “interpretation” I don’t recommend a haircut.Pros + Friendly, AtmosphereCons – Inconsistent
The hotel was really beautiful and the service was excellent. We were disappointed that there was no outdoor pool (only an indoor one) but they do have a nice spa area, so we hung out there instead. Also, when we ordered a cab to go back to the airport, we were told we should use the hotel’s luxury car service. The employee did not mention that the car service was double the price, but luckily we had the insight to make her tell us a specific rate (since she claimed it was only a little more) They claimed that cab service is unrealiable and that it is better to use the luxury cars. However, we had no issues with the cab and overall the stay was very nice. …
