Don’t bother with the benedicts, you can do so much better.Continuing my hunt for good eggs benedict in the city, this morning Diner-in-Crime, T-Diner, and I headed out to Zazie. We had all been there…

On my first lunch visit Slow Club justified both their name and their good reputation. I arrived at noon on a Wednesday glad to see I had beaten the rush. I ordered a cup of heirloom tomato and fennel soup 3.5 and the salmon 13 from my Mission-charming waitress. The bread that came out was soft and fluffy and better than most. It would probably have been better served by butter than olive oil though. The tomato fennel soup came out quickly and was very tasty. It had its fair share of buttercream but the fennel contributed a lot of the flavor to make this soup better than the many similar ones Ive had. But with a few apologies in between it took forty minutes to get my salmon. While this was disappointing since it meant a reasonably quick lunch may not be possible at Slow Club the waitress was very apologetic and said this day was way too long because of a slew of to go orders and that it was on the house. While I ended up leaving a 6 tip the final bill for both items was technically on

All of the dishes we ordered were delicious. For the 2 of us we got 3 small plates & 1 big plate & shared everything. The ?A La Mexicana? ceviche was one of the best I?ve ever had ? very fresh tasting! (Their ceviche is served with only 2 plantain chips so be sure to order a side of the chips if you want to eat the ceviche with something crunchy.) The cornmeal biscuits with melted cheese (Arepas de Queso) melted in my mouth & the Peruvian Chicken Empanadas were extremely flavorful. The Lomo Saltado was a great dish to share or order as an entree ? hearty & a great mix of flavors. The mini alfajores cookies they serve at the end of the meal are cute & tasty!!! Between the 2 of us we had 3 drinks which made the total: $40/person. A little pricey but worth the trip 🙂

Went to Q for my boyfriend’s birthday on Friday 5/2. Luckily we went there around 6:30, found a parking right outside and got our seat right-a-way. Customers came after us got to wait a bit.He ordered burger with garlic fries & root beer float, and I have ordered mussel & risotto & a glass of house Merlot. We both love this place! All food we have ordered were tasty! His burger was not come with a slice of cheese, but a big “cube” of cheese! You know, the cube was about 1 inch thick! Maybe that’s why you won’t think a $8-9 dollar burger from Q is overprice. The price for the whole meal was about $50 after tips! With different choices of food (He loves burger and I don’t) and reasonable price, we will go back again.Pros + food & food!Cons – parking. Have an early dinner and you could find your parking and seats.

We made our 3rd visit to San Francisco Aug 30, 2007 and ate at Tangerine on September 4th. It quickly became our favorite Bay area restaurant. WOW! The stuffed portobellas are divine – I can’t emphasize this enough. So were the spicy corn fritters and the yam cakes! It was hard to determine which we loved most. Entrees were the Seabass Edamame and Prawn Pasta with Spicy Anchovy, both extraordinary in presentation and taste. Service was impeccable. We did not have reservations, but we were accommodated with a window table even though the restaurant was quickly filling with those who did. Waitstaff were friendly and attentive despite being quite busy with a full house. Although the restaurant is small, we were comfortable in our space and had enough privacy. The decor is intimate and warm with hues of tangerine amidst perfect lighting. A huge floral display at the entrance is enchanting, tangerine colored lilies which I wanted to photograph. I took a business card when we left so I
