Where is the Best Morning-After Brunch in San Diego, California?
We stumbled upon Hash House A Go Go while walking to our original destination. We looked at the menu, thought it looked cool, were hungry, and decided to give it a try. What a great decision. I had chicken and waffles and Ron had a meatloaf dish. Both were excellent. The fare is, in my own words, “Southern Comfort Gourmet”….
I love supporting independent cafe’s & restaurants vs typical franchise restaurants & places like this one make it super easy to do that. The coffee selection was great, the potato bread excellent & my omellette delicious. It is a great spot to people watch. Luckily the wife & I went during the week & didn’t have a problem finding a table but I can easily see how it can be busy on the weekends. A gem of a place in a great seaside town. I wish I could keep it a secret but it just wouldn’t be fair to the world.Pros + Great for coffee lovers, food is deliciousCons – nothing
I had been meaning to check this place out, and get the 411 on what goes on over here. Upon entering, we were greeted by a very friendly host, who advised we MUST eat there. Upon his advisement, we sat down and had ourselves a meal. The menu had a decent selection of burgers, sandwiches, and other staple bar food. My party and I ordered the potato skins, the Guacamole burger, and specialty sandwich. The potato skins were pretty plain, of course they are potato skins. The Guacamole burger and specialty sandwich were excellent. The burger had a spicy guacamole on it, and it was a very hefty serving weighing in at 1/2 pound. The sandwich as well was on par with the burger in terms of it size, and the roast beef was moist and delicious. As far as aesthetics, it’s got a pretty hip vibe to it, though the music was a bit loud considering it was only lunch. The only real downfall of the meal was the service. Several people who had come in after us received their food before us. The
Located on the lobby level of the Hard Rock Hotel, Mary Jane?s is the perfect morning after complement to a night at Sweetwater Saloon! At first, I was disappointed that the Sunday Brunch menu didn?t include the Elvis Peanut Butter/Banana sandwich from the room service menu, but the Coffee Shop Skillet loaded with everything good ended up being just what we needed! My husband and I both got the same toppings and were full for the rest of the day. The friendly staff, relaxed/hip atmosphere, and live DJ completed our dining experience.Pros + Portions, Staff, LocationCons – Limited Brunch Menu
