Went there last Saturday night and loved this new space. Beautiful gallery, great outdoor space. And house wine and pint of beer for 3 bucks each! A true find. A couple of tips to make this place even sweeter…. some lighting outside… candles on each table maybe? After dark it needed something outside. A lot of people seemed interested but not too sure what to make of the space…. Whatever the case, we’ll be back!

Typically I’ve thought of the Cadillac Cafe as a great place for breakfast, which it is, but I went there for lunch and was not disappointed. I had the Red Curry Salmon and it was delicious. The salmon was cooked to perfection and while there wasn’t a lot of it, I didn’t complain as the rice more than made up for the lack of fish. Afterwards, we ordered dessert and I had the Pumpkin Mousse. I love Pumpkin but even this was a bit much of a Pumpkin aftertaste even for me. My only real compliant was the service. Our waitress was pretty unfriendly, had no sense of humor, and my friend and I felt like she didn’t really want to be there. When he ordered dessert, there were two choices, and he said we’d take one of each. It seemed pretty straight-forward but she just stood there with a combination of “duh” and attitude on her face. He repeated it again and she took our order. This is a pretty interesting place inside. There is a tricked out Pink Cadillac inside the restaurant. It’s hard t

No more tableside cooking: Used to be five stars now four stars. New chef and no tableside cooking is a big change for us. The food is still very good and John Louie is the best waiter in Portland. I hope they bring back the tableside service. That is a big problem for us.Stu CookPros + best waiter in portland is John LouieCons – no more tableside cooking

We went as a large group. I had read the reviews prior to going, so felt I was prepared for any “issues” that might have come my way re: tough meat, curt service or over rated food. I didn’t find any of those things. The food was delicious – well balanced, NOT too complex or fussy, and very carefully prepared to bring out the best features of each item. Well worth the prices. Our group tries everyone else’s entrees, and usually orderes several shared aps too, so I had a taste of a wide variety of items. The only item I didn’t care for was the salad greens – don’t know if they were just unusually bitter, or if they were designed to be so – either way, the dressing seemed to enhance the bitterness, so I gave it to my sister, and she ate every bite. Maybe just me.I had duck and it was excellent – a larege portion, so I shared. It was crispy on the outside, pan seered I think after roasting, and purrrrfect on the inside. Desserts were tasty too – cherry cheesecake was outstand

I love this place. Feels like going home for dinner to the home you wish you had. We eat there 3 times a month and I’ve probably eaten 60 meals there. Everything on the menu is cooked to perfection and served at the right time. The various waiters we’ve had, except for one, have been just perfect additions to the place and our meals. I’d recommend everything on the menu. The hamburger is divine, the seafood salad is generous and tasty, all the specials are special. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is the waitress we’ve had the last two times. Friendly but so friendly that she spent more time schmoozing with her dining buddies than attention to taking our order, serving our order and getting us the check. Plus, her size is such that if she’s schmoozing near you you feel cramped.Pros + Anything you orderCons – Servers are so friendly with certain diners that you may get lost in the shuffle
