Where is the Best Mexican Food in Tucson, Arizona?
The best in fast food mexican restaurants that you will find anywhere. The food is fresh and that fresh salsa bar is beyond excellent. The El Champion chicken burrito rivals is superior to most of the highly touted Tucson restaurants, especially for the price. The best habanero salsa you will ever have. Yes, it is hot but the flavor of the habanero salsa is the best I have had in North or South America. Pros + Habanero SalsaCons – None
The food is excellent, especially the chicken chimichanga with guacamole. Crispy on outside, moist and succulent on the inside. The salsa has just enough kick to make it interesting. However, the staff almost seemed like I was a bother to them. No smiles and they asked me questions like it was causing them pain. It was a little busy but they could still act like they wanted my service. Perhaps if you go when it isn’t busy the attitudes might be better.Pros + THE FOODCons – Service could be nicer
I have never been to La Fuente for dinner, but my coworkers like to go for lunch and have the lunch buffet. I believe at 8 bucks that it is way overpriced for the amount of choices and quality of the food offered. I always leave feeling kind of gross like i ate crappy food. Also, often times i have been there there will be like one enchilada left in the pan and it won’t be refreshed the whole time i am there going to the buffet……yuck……..i have never enjoyed the buffet or the price. Dry chicken, runny beans, and stale tacos…..no flavorPros + ummmm, if it’s taking me this long to think of one, then none?Cons – food, price, food, and food
Cafe Poca Cosa has the most unbelievably awesome food. I always get the chef’s choice Plato Poca Cosa trio and they’re okay with me begging off seafood. The chicken mole was the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve had it in an excellent restaurant in San Luis Potosi) and I still can’t get over the sweet carrot and onion tamale nor the grilled beef with a jalape?o chile and tomatillo sauce. For visitors to Tucson, this should absolutely be your number one food priority. Just be prepared for the snotty servers.
The food is excellent, the waiters are really nice and the food come out fast. There are plenty of room around. The chips are delicious as well as the hot sauce (comes in hot and mild to accomodate all kinda person).Pros + food come out fast, chips hot & crispy, outstanding waitersCons – close on monday
