Where is the Best Mexican Food in Charlotte, North Carolina?
Do not eat here, because I don’t want to give you the secret of THE BEST mexican food in Charlotte. I have tried tons of Mexican Resturants in Charlotte and SALSA is by far the best. First off, the salsa you get when you sit down is the best, chips are always fresh & hot, not your bagged type. Great Lunch Deals!! Great Drink Specials!! Most importantly the service is outstanding… friendly and AUTHENTIC! The Fajitas are perfect everytime. My personal favorite is the Taco Salads becuse you get a free cheese dip with it, and its so cheap. That’s the best part, great awesome food, great value, authentic, and so good. After you eat here you will want to add a better review then I have just written. Enjoy, Eat Drink. OLAY!! Also there is another SALSA’s that has just opened off of North Sardis Road and Monroe.Pros + Salsa, Chips, FoodCons – Can get crowded
Ive been to this restaurant at least two dozen times and I have never been disappointed. If you have ever been to other Mexican restaurant chains around the county, this should be what you are accustomed to. I would consider the food here to be Americanized Mexican food, if you are looking for authentic Mexican food, this is not that place. The menu is extensive offering steak, chicken, and seafood. There are many types of fajitas and burritos to order, as well as other offerings. I would recommend the queso sauce for an appetizer if you like cheese dip. They offer margaritas, beers, wines and soft drinks.Pros + Great Food, Great Service, Nice SelectionCons – Not romantic, need more room on table for all the food
El Vallarta is a hole-in-the-wall Mexican place in Pineville that we frequent quite often. El Vallarta has been a consistently good Mexican restaurant. The value is also excellent: Nicole and I can easily eat there for under $20. The salsa is probably the best in town as well. The major negative points for El Vallarta though are the restaurant facilities. The restaurant is in what looks like a renovated Hardees (Carl’s Jr.) The ceiling tiles also look like they need to be replaced, or some leaks in the roof need to be fixed. If you can look past the facilities problems, and you like fried Mexican rice, refried beans, enchiladas, burritoes, etc. then stop by El Vallarta. Make sure you check out the Pollo con Crema (or Pollo Fundido) sometime too, which is an excellent dish. Tops several other Mexican restaurants in the area, such as El Cancun and El Maguey.
The food at this Tex-Mex is the worst, I’ve had better Tex-Mex at Taco-Bell. The chicken enchildas had chicken that must have been sitting outside for a week. The “mole” sauce was also well below par as far as taste and appeal. I knew I had made the wrong decision to try the place when on a Saturday night there were only 3 other tables with other diners. This place is also owned by the same folks that own Fuel Pizza, which also leaves a lot to be desired. Don’t waste your money on Jolina.
