Where is the Best Mexican Food in Albany, New York?
While it is a friendly place, the food is mediocre at best. Everything comes from a jar or a can–chips, salsa, tortilla shells, chiles–and it is not very tasty or spicy. The pork carnitas or chicken taco are pretty good, with quality meat, but bland. Skip the relleno–a greasy cheese ball. Margaritas are super sweet (syrup not fruit). The decor and kid-friendliness are the best features.
We go there constantly. I love their huge burritos, especially the bbq pork And while they are best known for burritos, their flavored wings are very reasonable and taste wonderful. I like the garlic ones the best. And there is no better place to go on your birthday, where they give you an enormous Margaritta that is big enough for for people for free. The best place to sit is upstairs by the window overlooking Lark Street. If you don’t want waitress service then downstairs may do, but it is kind of dark an dingy thereThe service is pleasant and efficient and I think anyone visiting Albany should go there at least once.Pros + great food, great atmsophereCons – NONE
This is the best mexican rest. I have found north of the mason/dixon line!! Honest it is, if you want HOT food they can burn your head off or if you want mild they treat you like a kitten. It really is good authentic mexican food. Get there early or be ready to wait. It is worth the wait though.Pros + GREAT foodCons – Bare bones ambience
