Where is the Best Martini in Salt Lake City, Utah?
This is the best bar for anyone visiting any day of the week. It is especially popular during conventions. The bar is right in the downtown area and is really big. It is generally considered a sports bar. The basement is the main sports bar area with a lot of TV’s, pool tables, air hockey, arcade games, etc. The main floor is mostly a dining area with a small dance floor. Upstairs there is a huge two-level dance floor that is only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Friday nights feature Top 40 dancing and on Saturday nights there are live bands. They are open during the day for lunch and open early for dinner. The food is actually really good (for a bar, I recommend the nachos). I smoke, and since this is a private club, you can smoke in it. They will ask for a membership at the door. Just ask for a temporary membership, which is around $5 and is good for 2 weeks.
The weekend DJ is awesome! He plays the best mix of old school hip hop that gets EVERYONE pumped up & ready to have a good time. The dance floor is itsy bitsy (saying it’s tiny is an understatement) & the turnaround time for drinks is slower than molasses. You can always wait up at the bar, which is slightly quicker, but Utah law makes you unable to carry more than 2 drinks back to your table (whatever you do, do NOT leave your table unattended, it’s a SMALL bar so there’s always people waiting to snatch up seats). Its a good place to START your night, maybe sit – have a few drinks – then head off to a larger club.
So, I like the 1/2 price deal, and love the scene. The acoustic jazz band gets 5 stars for sure. They were amazing. But the food gets a 3 (For the rolls only, the Miso was terrible), and service gets a 1. It took me over an hour to get my first sushi roll. They never refilled my drink the whole 3 hours I was there. And no, I would not have been there that long if it weren’t for me having to wait for getting everything I ordered. At the very end when my waitress gave me my check she blamed it on the systems being down. I can understand a delay, but over an hour to roll up some fish is ridiculous. It was not even close to being busy. The waitress did not seem to really be with it either as she forgot my second roll. I had to go to the back and talk to her and the chef about getting it after ANOTHER hour. I couldn’t really enjoy my Miso, so thankfully they took that off my tab. I really do want to give the place another chance with the saving grace of the band and 1/2 price deal, but they
