Where is the Best Martini in Sacramento, California?
My husband and friends took me to Esquire Grill for my birthday last night. The food was excellent!! I had the tenderloin which was cooked exactly how I ordered it. I tried a bite of a few of the other peoples entrees and they were great as well. The service was on the slow side, but we weren’t in a hurry. Our waiter seemed a little stuck up, but the hostess (who I think was actually the manager) was really nice. At 26, and on a Tuesday night, I think we were about 20-30 years younger than the average age of other patrons though. Oh, and the valet parking for $5 that gets added to you bill at the table was great!!! Pros + Food, price Cons – location, service
The crowd was sparse, so I didn’t have any issues with waiting for a table, but the hostess still chose to sit me in the most isolated corner of the restaurant, next to the restrooms. Even though I requested a table for one, I couldn’t quite understand why I was sat in the farthest corner of the restaurant, next to the restrooms. I, a mid-20s Asian male, was still dressed in my work clothes, sans the coat and tie that I left in the car. So I didn’t understand why I would need to be so far removed from the rest of the patrons, but I held my tongue since I was too tired. My waitress seemed cheerful enough as she announced the special and took my order — prime rib and a pint of Sierra — but she didn’t quite mention her name until the end, almost as if serving me would be an afterthought. After checking/swiping my ID, she brought it back and told me that my order would be out shortly. While stuffing the ID back into my wallet, I contemplated what kind of a tip I would have given her if
If you like salt, this is the place for you. The fries which came with the ribs were so salty, we had to return them and request a baked potato instead. The steak also was loaded with salt and tough. The waiter was so intrusive, my husband asked me if he was an old boyfriend. I also asked my husband if HE knew him. Haven’t been back and no intentions of ever going there again!Pros + good parkingCons – crowded, loud, over rated
