At first, the atmosphere really draws you in. After sneaking a peak at a few plates, you can’t help get excited to eat here. Then your food comes. I got the vegetable samosas and while they came out warm, regardless if they were not piping hot, they still were a bit disappointing. This is coming from someone who had real samosas in India. The filling was nicely whipped, but in terms of kick and flavor it failed. At the price you pay, you should expect something that would come at least close to what real Indian fair should be. The Taj Mahal lager, a real good Indian beer, (they didn’t have the 22oz) 🙁 helped me forget about how elementary their samosas were. I was excited to have the Gobi Manchurian, which is hard to find in Indian restaurants around Philadelphia, and was satisfied. It could have been a bit more crispier, but the sauce was spot on. My date got a chicken base, with a chefs special sauce which was nicely spiced and finished well with some Nan. Her basmati ric

My date and I went out for the jazz duo and had dinner, drinks. It was comfortable and intimate. The server was nice and the bartender makes a great drink. The bar has neat sliding shelves. The place is small enough to be able to talk to your date and still hear the music. I had the french onion soup which wasn’t so great but the 2 dirty martinis made up for it. My date had an average caesar salad. The vocalist and guitarist were fine but I wouldn’t really go there just to hear music. It’s laid back enough to head there for drinks and food on a weeknight. Overall, I’d definitely go there again even though it was a little far south for us and ended up taking a cab ride back. If you live in the area, do stop by at L2. The bartender makes the place.Pros + great martini, small and intimate, romanticCons – okay menu selection, needs more jazz, nights with variety

Our food was delicious, nicely presented, fresh, mostly authentic, fairly priced and plentiful. But the wine and mojitos were grossly overpriced and the place became excessively noisy. Following the complimentary freshly baked tiny rolls with herbed olive oil, we shared the Alma sampler (for two) as an appetizer. Everything on it was excellent. Our Cuban companion confirmed that the Vaca…
