Where is the Best Martini in Los Angeles, California?

This has got to be the best place for after-work happy hour, if you’re on a budget! All appetizers are just $2 and they’re darn tasty! Shrimp, chicken satay, beef skewers, crab cakes, all $2! The drinks are nice and strong and if you’re a pool shark, playing is free (as long as you’re drinkin’).Friday nights, around 10pm, the place turns into a club, rockin’ the hip hop and reggae beats! Who knew?Pros + Cheap tasty food!, Strong drinks!, Fun place to hang out

Sitting on the busy corner of Huntington and Fremont, and next to an emergency pet care facility, the Barkley is an unexpected find. Go in through the back and navigate the maze-like hallway and uneven floors, and you’ll continue to be skeptical. Upon emerging into the dining room, you’ll find groovy booths of black vinyl, red carpet and attentive bow-tied waiters– a distinctly loungey atmosphere. The food, while not spectacular, is quite good– warm homemade rolls, good chili, perfectly done fries. Prices are fair. Live music on weekends. All in all, a nice neighborhood surprise!Pros + atmosphere, service, chiliCons – no posted menu

The Abbey is a solid bar, great place for night time drinks and desserts, a place to meet your friends, a quality lunch–and is downright huge, too. Despite its material success, the Abbey has kind of grown too big for its neighborhood–it took over about 4 buildings in ten years. It used to be the great little coffee house around the corner, but there is so much of it that it’s hard to describe the Abbey in a word or two. Is it a giant bar with a patio, a restaurant with a coffee shop in the front and a velvet rope or what? Definitely bring your friends from out of town. The food, staff and service are good. Prices are pretty good for WeHo and there is so much space that there are places to get lost with your friends and enjoy a good time. There is no convenient nearby parking and WeHo tickets. As an Abbey patron for over ten years, I feel it has lost some of its mojo.

It’s almost a joke how bad the service is. Except it’s not that funny when your drinks cost $15+.The door men are usually cool. I mean, their job is to keep the place exclusive, so don’t expect to get in if you look awful, but otherwise that aspect is fine. The girls who work inside are the problem. Maybe they only pay attention to rich looking men, but the last time I was there (just me and a girlfriend) we were literally ignored when we went to the section to order food, after wrongly being told the kitchen was closed, oh, wait, no it’s actually still open, but … blah blah.Another time I was there, perhaps at a less busy time, the service was fine, but not outstanding. I’m going to stop complaining now, because, I think you’d be a fool to go to Bar Marmont in hopes of outstanding service. It’s BAR MARMONT. You’re lucky to be in there, right? That seems to be the general concensus. Drinks are great, location great, decor great, has the history, has the name. Go if you want, don’t

This is one of our favorite restaurants – a quick lunch or a long lunch, can be had. The food is always fresh and good, service is always attentive and accomodating. We go there for many business lunches because it is always reliable for good food and service. It is filled with people, yet quiet enough to have a conversation without shouting. They have a great variety of cooked and raw dishes, so everyone can enjoy something. The “long lunch” crowd can enjoy some interesting wines and Sakis sitting and staring at the great view of Los Angeles (on a clear day). On a warm enough day, the patio is a fine place to dine and enjoy the sunshine.Pros + great view, attentive service, fresh and creative fish
